Booked for 4 people last night and they were very good about me calling earlier in the day to ask could we move the reservation to outside, as my friend is pregnant and having dined inside once before I know it can be a little too warm with limited space. Props for service there, I appreciate it. When we arrived we were brought to the table outside and told water and cutlery were coming. Neither did. Only had Heineken 00 for my friend, manager/owner didn’t seem too pleased when she asked was there any other options. Ordered a bottle of wine, manager/owner dropped and broke a glass at our table which is fine, things happen, however tried to dust the shards off the table in front of my friend and sent another staff member out with the brush. There were still shards on the table we had to remove with a napkin ourselves. I went inside before our starters arrived to ask for water and told by the manager/owner it was coming in a quite unfriendly tone. Our last experience here this man wasn’t very nice to his staff and we ended up feeling bad for the young guy serving us. Ordered four starters. Two arrived to the table behind us, who sat staring at the food wondering what was going on. Manager/owner came back out and took the plates back from them, apologised, and brought them straight to our table. They sat there, one going cold for a good 3 minutes before the other 2 plates arrived. Cutlery arrived after with only 2 plates and napkins for 4 of us. I went inside again to ask for water and plates. I carried the jug of water out to the table myself. Glasses arrived and the bar guy was very nice, but one glass was dirty. Starters very nice, however we were unsure was the squid entirely cooked, didn’t look cooked through and texture wise didn’t seem it. Obviously conscious of this as we are sharing with our pregnant friend so her and I tried but didnt finish it when we realised. At that point I didn’t want to say anything about it for staff to think we were trying to be difficult but I was hoping as the busy period started to subside that things would get better. Not at all. Only got forks, asked for knives when food came and waitress said they weren’t polished so that’s why we didn’t get them already. Mains arrived in good time, my steak was a minute or two behind but understandable, everything was really tasty. However we should have had three sides of wedges that we had to ask for but only came out when we were 90% done our food. At that point I didn’t eat them, I’d finished. My friend asked for a Fanta and when it arrived I’d say it was 3/4 full, however eyeing up the experiences of the tables around us there were cokes filled to the brim. Overall felt very overlooked. Sat for at least 25/30 minutes with empty mains plates in front of us before they were taken and we got the bill. At this point not busy at all. Charged us 1.50 for extra bread, and now at that point that felt cheeky considering it was evident our experience was not good. You can spare charging us for bread at least. Manager/owner sat at a table across from us very aggressively speaking and loud on a video call smoking a cigarette after service, not professional in any regard. Paid and asked for a receipt, young girl told me the card machine was out of paper and would get it inside, totally fine. But never got it. Overall food was really tasty, unsure if we ate raw squid, but service was mediocre. It’s the first time I’ve ever eaten out and not tipped or left a review good or bad. Thank you to the young guy that was behind the bar, was very nice and helped us when I’d asked. I understand busy periods but our experience was really damped by the service overall. Service was slow floor staff wise the last time we ate here too which is ok, but we received half jobs last night. If it wasn’t the only place with a table of four on late notice or accommodating the table outside I would’ve complained there and then but by the end it felt pointless. Such a shame because the food is great but don’t think I’d waste my time being neglected at a table I’m...
Read moreWe ate here Saturday feb 24 …we were seen to straight away and brought upstairs to a cold empty room … when we asked if we could sit downstairs as there was plenty of empty seats the waitress was a bit put out and after waiting for her to return ..which she didn’t we we went down ourselves …we were also told upstairs would be full in the next 5 mins which it wasn’t and for the duration of our stay there was plenty of vacant seats downstairs…all the while the owner looking on ….. the food was very good and the waiting staff that looked after us were lovely… but it made for an uncomfortable evening and the table we were eventually given was near the door and we were freezing…we could have sat with our coats on only we didn’t want to bring any more attention to ourselves…people are paying so much to eat out it should be a pleasant experience and this wasn’t …if you book a table and your there first you should be given a nice table …. Having said this the food was very good and the staff that served us were lovely…. Because of this I would return but it would have to be on a warm summer evening not a cold evening in February as we were freezing. Sorry this is not true we waited 5 minutes and nobody came up to us … we felt like fools standing there and took it upon ourselves to come downstairs… we were given a table … sat down and were then told to move again as the table was going to be set for 6 instead of 4 we were NEVER given the option of a table don’t know where you got this from as we certainly wouldn’t have sat where we were put .. freezing every time the door opened …. Being a business man you should take on board this criticism …. I think we we were very fair in our review … while you...
Read moreAs a Greek in Ireland Im sad to say I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Other than that the service was lacking a lot, the boss that was there was not a help either. Our server looked like he was taking his sweet time and not being in a rush at all. It took 20 minutes to get us even some water after we ordered. And he never even said sorry for the delay.
We ordered a “Greek salad” for 10.50€ , which is nothing like an actual Greek salad. Might as well call it something else. 90% of it was mixed leaves which doesn’t belong in a Greek salad and was mostly for volume. (From the store that barely costs 2€ for the pack and it was like half a pack of leaves ) Anything else in it was tiny tiny cubes of barley half a tomato and 1/3 of a cucumber, 6 otherwise delicious olives and mayyybe 50-70 grams of feta in tiny cubes again. I’d rather pay more and have an actual Greek salad.
We also ordered a yamas plate. That cost us 32€ and contained 3 unseasoned meatballs ( that tasted store bought/ frozen ), 1 chicken skewer (3 pieces of chicken), 1 small tub of tzatziki and barely 200gr of gyro with 2 small pieces of pita( so like half a pita bread). For that price someone would expect better volume on the plate and/or more sides. That portion wasn’t enough to feed one person.
Overall: Good taste on the chicken and gyro, decent tzatziki and tasty olives and feta. But the portions compared to prices is like they’re kidding you into thinking it’s worth it. Service was a joke for a Greek restaurant. Greek people are known worldwide for their hospitality so they should have carried that into...
