I recently dined at Kohenoor Indian Restaurant in Portlaoise and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The food was simply outstanding, with each dish bursting with authentic Indian flavors. I gave it two stars because I had a lovely glass of red wine while I was waiting. and waiting... And waiting.

After 45 minutes we gave up and cancelled the order and went elsewhere.

Things do go wrong at restaurants but it is how they are handled that can make the difference:

Things that the restaurant could g have done to handle it better 1) Told us there would be an unusually long wait.when they seated us 2) Brought missing ice from our drinks order directly to us instead of including it in with the order to another table, which added another delay while my partner looked at her drink for ten minutes before she could drink it 3) made a gesture like a free drink when we cancelled The waitress said "I don't blame you" when we cancelled, accepting responsibility and it would have been a...

I’m really disappointed with my experience at Kohinoor Restaurant. I had discussed an event with one of the staff members, Ahmed, who agreed to a fixed menu and confirmed a tasting for the following week. The next day, I received a call from Athar Butt, who said the menu was fine and also agreed to the tasting and price.

A few days later, I called again to confirm the details, and Narender answered. He said that they couldn’t offer that menu at the agreed price. I asked him to request Athar to call me back, but I never received any call back even after calling again the next day.

This lack of communication and professionalism is extremely disappointing. I had to cancel my event at the last minute, which was very embarrassing in front of my guests. I genuinely expected better service and...
