The staff at Laxey Beach Cafe are always very friendly and helpful. Due to the popularity of the place there is usually a queue, but the staff work quickly so the wait isn't too long. But the wait is worth it because the food is excellent, especially when it is a cherry scone fresh out the oven with lashings of clotted cream, jam and fresh strawberries; hhmmm, like angels dancing on my tongue. 😋😋 The home made cakes and tray bakes bring the child out in me as I just want to eat the lot - believe me, they are excellent. We visited here around lunch time of the school holidays whilst playing on Lacey beach with two young children. Maybe we caught it at the wrong time because there was very little to choose from and the selection of cake was poor. We got the children brownies as there was no food for them but they were packed with nuts so they didn't touch them. Apparently it's not usually like this but that's the experience we got. Firstly , the prices I've just seen on this website do not concur with those being charged today Monday 26th August which were higher. Secondly the scones were ready- spread with a product not even remotely tasting of butter ; and I don't believe they were made using butter as , again , the flavour was not that of butter.
