Don’t bother coming here if you are vegan. My partner and I both had to send our food back and then sit and watch the rest of my family eat their meals. My fiancé ordered the vegetable curry, When it arrived, we realised they had mistakenly given him a Thai green curry (which was written separately on the menu) but still served with popadom and mango chutney. It was not served in the metal bowl that my brother in law had his Indian curry served in. We told the waitress and she was adamant that the Thai green curry was the same thing as the vegetable curry and just kept arguing the same thing back to us even after we showed her the menu which had the two dishes separately written down. We had seen a photo of the vegetable curry on Facebook and it was definitely an Indian curry served in one of the metal bowls and not a Thai green curry. Unfortunately My partner does not like Thai green curry and never would have ordered it. I ordered the vegetable risotto and it was absolutely tasteless and bland. It also did not have a creamy texture like risotto should. It was more like some rice in a bland tomato sauce. They offered to make something else but by that point we didn’t want to wait 20 mins for something else, when we had very little faith that the food would be nice second...

Read morePopped in with my wife for the first time as it looks like such a lovely place around 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon as we thought we’d try a coffee and at a later date go there for a meal with our son. There were three people standing at the bar drinking and a couple of tables had people eating meals. We asked a waitress/bar person if we could have two cappuccino’s and sit outside where it was completely empty. She replied “I’m a bit busy to make coffees”. We felt very embarrassed, and promptly walked out. It’s not as though we’d asked for an elephant’s ear on a bun! Went to the Laxey Glen instead which was a lot busier and received a warm welcome, had coffee and cake which was delicious. Shan’t return to the Shore Hotel Laxey again in case it’s too busy to serve...
