Update April 2024: We returned for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed! We were offered a range of vegan options. - Manx vegetable soup - poached apple and beetroot salad - truffle aranchini - shallot tart tatin - spring vegetable wellington with roast potatoes - sticky toffee pudding with ice cream - chocolate brownie It is so amazing to be offered options to choose from when you are vegan, particularly when they all sound so tasty. We had the arancini, tart tatin, Wellington and sticky toffee pudding and everything was delicious particularly the sticky toffee pudding! The staff were all really lovely and helpful and very diligent about checking for my allergy (nuts). The restaurant felt really lovey and cozy with real candles on all the tables. We can’t wait to come back next time we’re on the island. Nov 2018: We went there for Sunday lunch to celebrate my Dads birthday. My partner and myself are vegan, after telling the chef we had already had risotto twice that weekend during our trip to the IOM, we were told they would make something especially for us (the vegan wellington had nuts in it and I’m allergic). They were so helpful and accommodating, and the food was fantastic. The three non vegans in the party also enjoyed their Sunday lunch with huge Yorkshire puddings. The only negative was they didn’t have any vegetarian gravy - but suspecting this might be the case we brought a brand new jar from m and s and they kindly warmed it for us. Five star service and food. Best place on the island I’ve been!

We were lucky enough to perform at The Abbey Restaurant for a wedding reception this year, we made the long trip over from South Wales and we have to say it was worth it! First of all, special mention to the staff and the owner of The Abbey, everyone was friendly and accommodating, we were offered food and drinks and felt welcomed like family. The restaurant itself has a tasteful decor and is well situated in a beautiful area of the island. We hope to be back on the island again someday soon so we can visit The Abbey again. P.S. This band has eaten many a hog roast this year and yours still shines as the tastiest!

I really didn't know what to expect from this establishment, turned into the entrance and saw Michelin ratings! Quite expensive but worth it! Service was great and food lived up to what I would expect. First course however was spoilt by not being able to have gravy without any redwine in it. I am allergic to redwine and I would have expectedly an alternative sauce for roast dinner, which is quite unacceptable really from such an establishment. This is why I removed a star. My salmon was lovely though, desserts great (see photos) and I would recommend this place overall.

Nice food . Good service. Lack of space when you first come in ,people stand round the bar ,new customers are not seen straight away and have to push through to be shown to there table.
