Zafririm 1 — Restaurant in Haifa

"Restaurant diamond". Amazing place. I already forgot the last time I was in such a good restaurant that matches its prices in the menu. The good location is a bit marred by possible problems with finding parking place. The restaurant itself is very nice and clean. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. There is an opportunity to taste the wines before ordering here. Normal portion sizes and prices. Very good selection of drinks and alcohol. Normal selection of food, including fish, meat and pasta. Mom and her friend ordered Grilled seabass and some pasta. Me and my wife ordered Sourdough bread as starter, Pasta Carbonara and Pullet steak(chicken stew). Geurztraminer white wine, Porta 6 and Diablo red wines. Except that the pasta in the Carbonara seemed just a little undercooked on my opinion, everything else was delicious. To my wife, her pasta seemed completely cooked, so maybe it's just my taste. I tried two other dishes too and they all seemed very tasty. Food was a bit hit or miss. Shrimp was done perfectly as was a grilled eggplant dish. Chopped liver was bland and boring. A few bites of the sweetbreads were excellent, others chewy - the taco inspired presentation overpowered the delicate meat - leave it on the plate.

The service... sigh. The waiter explained that the portions were small for sharing. He left us a menu in case we wanted to add anything. Then he brought us only part of our order and never returned. I tried to catch him a few times but he had places to be. I'm not sure what he expected us to do with the menu.

We were still waiting for the remaining dish, we gave up on ordering more, when someone else on the staff must have realized they wanted the table back. Explanations and apologies followed but really I just wanted to leave...

This restaurant served us really nice dishes.. The waiter was extremely polite, passed by our table every now and then to check up on us and made sure that we are satisfied. The vibes were nice, clean place, not too loud music (gets louder as the night goes on). For starters we ordered the mozzarella salad and arais (fried Peeta with meat inside, certainly recommended) For mains we had the Jack Hamburger with potatoes on the side and the shrimp dish with blue cheese and asparagus. Also great. (As shown in the added picture) For dessert we took a mascarpone dish, don't remember the name, with seasonal fruit (figs) and biscuits in between. Very delicious.
