We have been intending to go to Naya for a long time - since it opened it's received largely positive reviews on social media and we both love Asian food - so what happened? Covid coupled with a lack of planning - it's a hot spot and you can't decide on the spur of the moment to go - there won't be a table available.
My wife booked a table for my birthday a month ahead of time. Kids' corona tests were all negative, my son was home so no need for a babysitter - not even a potential WW3 was going to stop us!
Parking was a squeeze but we were able to find a spot. The place was clearly busy but we were sat in a spot where we didn't feel crowded.
Warning - the menu is quite overwhelming - it's long, split into a variety of sections and it pretty much all looks good. We decided to try a bunch of different dishes and asked our (charming, efficient) waitperson for recommendations.
We ordered two fancy sushi rolls as recommended - both were delicious, attractively served, and were brought out ahead of the other dishes as requested.
My wife ordered the duck ramen - it sounded and looked delicious but I wasn't really wowed by it as I didn't feel that there were any flavours going on that really popped to give it a wow factor.
We are both of the opinion that rare meat is the way to go and "well done" means absolutely ruined. We were delighted with the Tataki beef which was only barely cooked, attractively plated and absolutely delicious.
My wife doesn't deal well with spicy dishes but I really fancied the Szechuan beef - it was excellent. The fatty (in a good way) beef was cooked perfectly and the spicing was hot but not overwhelmingly so.
The Indian Schwarma, served on a laffa like flatbread was also a hit, with plenty of appropriate spices.
The cocktail list is interesting and well thought out to suit different tastes but could do with an increased font size, particularly in the low light. I went for a beer, my other half enjoyed her cocktail - alas I don't recall what it was.
Despite misgivings as to our capacity to do them justice we ordered desserts - a delicious "Yuzu Cream with lemon biscuit and Verbena Coulis steamed meringue and black sesame tuile" was delicious although I would not have known it was Yuzu as opposed to another citrus fruit. My Peanut butter / chocolate offering consisting of "Chocolate cloud, caramelized peanuts, cocoa crumble, peanut butter, chocolate sorbet, chocolate leaves and salted caramel sauce" looked fantastic and was every bit as tasty as it sounds.
Not cheap but not horrifically expensive and we ate exceedingly well and will...
Read moreDining at Naya Restaurant was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a beautifully designed space that feels both elegant and welcoming. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance—sophisticated yet relaxed—with soft lighting, tasteful decor, and an open layout that makes it ideal for both intimate dinners and group gatherings.
The menu is a delightful journey through Asian fusion cuisine, offering a wide variety of dishes that are clearly made with attention to detail and quality ingredients. We started with the steamed dumplings and tuna tartare, both of which were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The sushi rolls were creative and expertly made, with a nice balance of texture and taste. For mains, the Pad Thai and the beef stir-fry were highlights—generous portions, rich in flavor, and cooked to perfection.
Service throughout the evening was top-notch. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Our server took the time to explain some of the more unique menu items and offered thoughtful recommendations that suited our tastes.
To top it off, the dessert menu was just as impressive. We tried the coconut panna cotta and a warm chocolate fondant—both were absolutely delicious and the perfect way to end the meal.
Overall, Naya Restaurant offers a complete dining experience with excellent food, great service, and a beautiful atmosphere. It’s a place I would definitely return to and recommend to anyone looking for high-quality Asian fusion in a...

Would have gotten more but this was the 3rd restuarant for our min-Jeudean Hill Foodie tour. If I c9ukd do it all over again, I'd just go here (or at the very least start here ;)
Started off with the Tataki Tuna Sashimi. Now I hardly ever order raw, esp not raw fish, but this was so good I wanted more.
Next came the Cha Gio 3rd fav dish od the night. Then onto the Hong Kong Gyoza filled with chicken.
We were given the Sashimi Garden as compliments of the house - wasn't a b8g fan, but like i said im not a huge fan of sashimi, besides that Tataki dish, maybe the sear helped 😁
For mains, we all shared the Szechwan Beef with rice and Yigal (2nd half of The Two Jerusalem Foodie Guys on Facebook) ordered for himself the Pho Ga.
The beeffl dish was seasoned nicely with just the right amount of heat. I tried some Pho and the broth was ok but the chicken needed a little more something.
Then to culminate the night and our inaugural time at Naya we were presented with the Lycee Rose (2nd fav dish of the night right behind the Tataki).
I usually skip desserts, because, a.) I don't really need it and b) they're usually not so great, esp. non-dairy ones. But this took the cake, lol. I could have eaten it all by myself 😛
Cant eait to go back. Next time shall focus all...
