There are two Etroubles'. The one where you rent a room in the centre and reserve a table at the leprechaun restaurant next door. And then there's the version I did this year, get an overpriced room on the other side of the gsb road and eat a pizza at le vieux bourg. The first experience is 5 stars. The second gets a 2 star because it's the wonderful Etroubles. I had a craving for a good pizza on my last night in Italy. The pizza was mediocre to bad, but for the place itself I can't figure out why I stayed there waiting for a table (they we're all reserved and empty, a typical Italian flaw). If you go picking a frozen pizza at the supermarket, you'll likely find better standards than in here.
Service guys ask for money without giving receipts and everything is managed by anarchy.
We have never seen a more dirty place than that and the moment you step in you know this is not their job, neither they never worked a single day in their life in contact with customers.
Completely improvised and unprofessional. Wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy.
