Ristorante Cambusa del Capitano — Restaurant in Aci Castello

Visited last week at lunchtime with my wife and baby. It is just past the main tourist area and well worth the visit. After a brief chat with "The Captain" (larger than life character who truly made us feel welcome) we sat pondering what to order and starters just began arriving at the table! Items we never would have been brave enough to order but were as fresh as I have ever tried (the raw prawns we incredible). Simply and skilfully prepared. A sort of impromptu tasting menu worthy of a Michelin. Highly Recommend, this truly was an old school hospitality experience. I wish more restauranteurs embraced...

A very nice traditional place that I would gladly recommend. They are super friendly, constantly checking if everything was well, the cook himself asked us personally if the pasta is fine. They don’t speak any English, but it was very easy to communicate with them. If you have any specific wishes I am sure they will do everything to please you. The food was great. Went there tonight, a warm welcome from the waitress & quickly seated. Menu in both Italian and English offers no pizza, but lots of interesting fish based pasta dishes & fish dishes. We opted for a starter of boiled shrimp to share, which were fresh and amazing. For mains we had anchovy pasta and swordfish both amazing! Service was friendly, we had 3 soft drinks with the meal and the bill came to 42 Euros - great food & great value....
