We had an exceptional experience at Hotel Lachea in Aci Castello, just north of Catania! The rooms are spacious, beautiful, and impeccably clean, equipped with a fridge and air conditioning. I highly recommend opting for a room with a sea view – the scenery is absolutely stunning and well worth the extra cost. The breakfast was excellent, offering a variety of delicious options, and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. The hotel’s location is perfect, just a 5-minute walk from the main attractions in town, making it very convenient to explore the area. I also recommend this hotel for those planning to visit Catania, as the price is excellent and the value for money is unbeatable. Additionally, for those interested in a trip to Mount Etna, the hotel offers direct booking options, which is a great convenience. Another impressive aspect was the constant presence of the owner, who takes care of each guest personally and is even present at breakfast to ensure everyone feels welcome. The hotel's pool is remarkable, with a breathtaking view that leaves you speechless. Definitely a destination I highly recommend! Read moreThe hotel is easy to find, it being signposted off the coast road. Parking is off road in the hotel carpark. The staff are briliant, exceptionally friendly and some speak a little english. The rooms are simply furnished and was spotlessly clean on arrival and remained that way throughout our 1 week stay, plenty of fresh towels daily. The bed was a touch firm for my wife's taste but we both slept well. ||||There is a bit of noise. This is partly caused by the stone/tiled floors which echo a bit so you do hear footsteps. We could also hear the people in the next room 'enjoying themselves'. There is also a bit of road noise. ||||Breakfast was great. Plenty of choice, fresh fruit, cakes, local products etc. The hotel also does dinner for 16 euro per person. Only 20 or so minutes from the airport with a sea view and a short walk into a small town with plenty of eating choices, what is not to like. Yes we will go back there if we are...
Read moreWe booked two rooms for three people each but later tried to cancel for one person. The hotel refused, claiming there were no rooms for two people available. When we arrived, they had placed our two family rooms on different floors. After we insisted this was unacceptable, they suddenly “found” a two-person room and put both rooms next to each other proving they had lied earlier.||In the end, we paid for six people but were downgraded to accommodation for five at the same price.||Security was non-existent and anyone could have walked into our rooms. The swimming pool had no lifeguard. The car park was extremely narrow, with a huge bump that damaged the underside of our car. Overall, very disappointing and not...
