There's a huge gap between food and service. The food is well treated and generally well cooked: like the tuna, still raw on the inside; the crust outside though was quite soft and the pistachios were nowhere to be found.

The octopus was nicely cooked: very soft and quite tasty, though a bit extra seasoning, a few more olives and some parsley would help the dish. The cut could have been thicker and smaller: it would have allowed to make more of a crusty outside without cooking the inside.

The fried scampi were very light and not oily.

The real downside was the service: first of all, we reserved for the fish soup. Too bad that once we got there (at the time agreed with them) it was finished. The excuse was that they could not keep it and sold all of it. When we mentioned the reservation for the fish soup, they didn't even apologize and kept insisting that we couldn't have possibly reserved it. To add insult to injury, they took 3 cents(!!!) off the bill.

Second, the waitresses were quite rude and unprofessional. They brought some farinata (a typical focaccia made from cheakpeas) to share, they piled up 3 plates (for 5 people) and slammed them on the table.

Suggestion: I understand this is not a high-end place. It's not an excuse to treat your customers badly and to not be transparent in your communication.

Dessert: a cooked apple (whole) with a scoop of ice cream? Really? In a restaurant?

Oh, and if you'd like a drink at the end of the meal, like a grappa, you can forget about it. They do not serve any. Again, the waitress was quite rude in letting us know this.

When you come to this place you should be ready to wait. It's very popular place for having local cuisine. Make sure that once you arrive you come inside and request a table, we had spent some time just waited outside before we realized that they invite people by calling their names. Also there's no air-conditioning inside, but that's pretty common in Albengo. But still this place is absolutely must visit while you're in Albengo. Meal was delicious, especially fried local sea food. And leave some space for desert, chocolate cake is...

Esperienza pessima: premetto che il locale era pieno con più turni.

ACCOGLIENZA: Prenotazione 20.30, inseguendo la signora della cassa siamo riusciti ad entrare alle 21.05.

Non ci accompagnano al tavolo e ci dicono: "entrate, nell' altra sala trovate un tavolo apparecchiato per 2"; essendocene 2 decidiamo per quello non dentro il wc...ci fa alzare per cambiare il tavolo e fa accomodare un' altra coppia dove ci stavamo sedendo (avrei capito se avesse fatto accomodare 3 persone visto che c' era lo spazio), già qui si intuisce il rispetto...

AMBIENTE Un pollaio intensivo è un ambiente più rilassante ed accogliente, anche gli altri tavoli erano tutti attaccati e non vi è nessun trattamento acustico per rendere l' ambiente più confortevole, nemmeno i pannelli da pochi €...

CIBO/MENÙ Acqua: da 0,5L sul menù, servita acqua da 0,4L (molto buona) ma gradirei mi fosse portato ciò che c' è sul menù. Birre: unica nota positiva, selezione abbastanza variegata e la temperatura era corretta.

Farinata: con il fondo crudo, in cassa ci è stato detto che "loro la fanno così". Fritto misto: senza infamia né lode, si trova di meglio allo stesso prezzo. Salsiccia di maiale: era talmente ben cotta da essere ancora rosa... Gorgonzola: molto buono, servito con pane integrale molto buono e pane bianco.

Conclusione: Capisco che il locale era pieno con pure doppi turni ed il personale era in difficoltà ma avrei gradito avessero rifiutato la prenotazione rispetto ad averla gestita in...

Mangiata pantagruelica e memorabile! Ne abbiamo visitati di posti in Liguria e provati di ristorantini, ma questo posticino accogliente è stata una scoperta a dir poco memorabile. Pesce più che fresco e cucinato in maniera impeccabile e goduriosa! Antipastino di Carpaccio di pesce spada e tonno buonissimo, fritto con gamberoni (veri) e calamari da encomio, sarde alla brace deliziose, gamberoni alla brace stra stra buoni e spiedini di carne alla brace che profumano di vacanza. Prezzi veramente convenienti e personale super gentile. Quindi se non ci si ferma qui, e’ come scegliere di non farsi un vero regalo pieno di leccornie. Complimenti al cuoco!!! A presto. Tipico locale Ligure "di una volta" , molto essenziale come deve essere un locale ormai storico di Albenga. La farinata e'decisamente la piu' buona che abbia mai mangiato, soffice e con una crosticina fantastica. Il pesce è freschissimo e cucinato bene. Si possono trovare piatti liguri tradizionali , fritti (quello con i gamberi di imperia molto buono e leggerissimo) oppure in umido come il coniglio....tante proposte alla brace cucinate sul momento. La titolare gentile e i prezzi sono decisamente bassi considerando la qualita delle materie prime. Unico difetto : trovare posto ....consiglio prenotare una settimana prima.

Tipico locale Ligure "di una volta" , molto essenziale come deve essere un locale ormai storico di Albenga. La farinata e'decisamente la piu' buona che abbia mai mangiato, soffice e con una crosticina fantastica. Il pesce è freschissimo e cucinato bene. Si possono trovare piatti liguri tradizionali , fritti (quello con i gamberi di imperia molto buono e leggerissimo) oppure in umido come il coniglio....tante proposte alla brace cucinate sul momento. La titolare gentile e i prezzi sono decisamente bassi considerando la qualita delle materie prime. Unico difetto : trovare posto ....consiglio prenotare una settimana prima.
