Il Molo Portonovo — Restaurant in Ancona

We went here in off-season, maybe the experience in high season would have been different. We were there a bit early, the kitchen was not yet open, so we settled for drinks and “appetizers” as food. The drinks and service were OK, the staff was a little bit over eager though; when we went for a bathroom break, our still one third full bottles had already been cleared off the table, when inquired about why the still somewhat full bottles were taken off the table, we were reassured that they were empty. The waitress came back one minute later with our still one third full bottles and apologized. The same happened with our initial appetizer by the way. The food we had was not really to be recommended. The three mini club sandwiches with fish turned out to be rather stale bread rolls with deep fried and marinated or drenched in mayo fish. We ended up eating only two out of three sandwiches, because one was with fish marinated in a cream sauce, although I had specifically asked if there would be food served with lactose due to a food allergy, which was denied. Maybe the proper dinner at this place is better, but I cannot recommend it for the food which sold before kitchen...

Had the best food and service at Il Molo for the first time this summer while i came by for hollidays, i grew up in the area but never took chance to try it until now. I was searching for restaurants that make the best "tagliatelle allo scoglio" a typical Italian dish of pasta and prime seafood, and must say these lads make one of the best in the region.

During the day drinks and smaller portioned sized food and snacks can be served to your umbrella stand, for a very low service fee.

For dinner the area that is used for the ubrellas is set up so a reasonable number of people can have a wonderful dining experience sitting at the comfort of a beach cot and the view of the majestic Mount Conero and the bay of Portonovo.

The menu is mainly seafood and wouldn't bother to order anything different, seafood is excellent here! They have a surprisingly varied selection of wines both Italian and international. Kind and well-knowledged staff regarding food and wine combinations. The price is worth it all.

Can't wait to return...

Deludente. Abbiamo prenotato per due tramite il sito internet ma anziché la classica cena ci siamo ritrovati in un'apericena sullo sdraio a un metro dall'acqua, oltre alla scomodità abbiamo avuto qualche dubbio sulla sanificazione anticovid dato che lo sdraio è stato usato durante il giorno da altre persone e non è stato minimamente coperto (la gente prendendo il sole suda, mette i piedi..). Facendo notare questo disguido alla cameriera ci ha gentilmente assegnato un posto al tavolo all'interno, convinti di aver risolto il disguido e passare una buona cena...ma nota dolente fin da subito il titolare ci ha accolti infastidito della nostra presenza. Il titolare, dopo che ci ha consegnato il menù si è irritato alla richiesta se era possibile avere un menù più classico (esempio con spaghetti alle vongole, risotto frutti di mare, spaghetti allo scoglio) lui ci ha risposto in modo scortese dicendo che questo è un menù speciale e insistendo nel farci acquistare anche un vino senza sapere se volevamo ordinarlo o meno, questo ci ha un po' infastiditi visto che siamo astemi. Ci è stato quindi prima portato l'aperitivo come richiesto accompagnato da taralli e arachidi salate, niente di eccezionale. Successivamente ci hanno portato i nostri due primi, un tagliolino con ragù bianco insipido e un spaghetto Adria ,61 un po' salato. Per secondo abbiamo preso un fritto misto di pesce in cui abbiamo trovato anche verdure fritte e tranci di pesce incluse le lische da togliere (sicuramente operazione risulta poco elegante da fare in un locale apparentemente così chic). Finito di mangiare il secondo avevamo intenzione di mangiare anche il dolce ma ci sono stati portati via i piatti senza nè portarci né chiederci la lista dolci e caffè. Abbiamo aspettato dieci minuti dopodiché nuovamente spazientiti ci siamo recati alla cassa per pagare, il titolare quindi si è mostrato nuovamente scortese ma stranamente contento che andassimo via e senza sorriso e senza chiederci come è andata la cena. Questo comportamento non abbiamo capito se è derivato dal cambio di tavolo, dalla nostra giovane età (29 e 28 anni contro una media dei clienti 50-70 con eventuali bambini al seguito) oppure dal nostro abbigliamento casual (polo-pantaloncini e shorts di jeans-maglietta notando che gli altri avevano camicia e vestiti eleganti)...

Per quanto riguarda il prezzo ci è sembrato un po' eccessivo rispetto a quantità e qualità...in particolar modo 6€ di coperto per due persone.

Senza dubbio la location è meravigliosa, locale moderno e molto chic con vista mare a due passi, sembra di mangiare quasi su una barca in mezzo al mare, molto romantico. Peccato per l'organizzazione e il servizio e quanto spiegato in precedenza. Non torneremo, peccato perché il posto mi era molto piaciuto dieci anni fa quando ero venuto in ferie, molto probabilmente nel frattempo la gestione è cambiata...
