Do better!
We did not reserve on a monday, and all the other restaurants in town are closed on monday, so we had to wait for 1 hour but we could order drinks. Our mistake, but no problem. We wished to wait. But we did not get the drinks after an extra 20 minute wait. However we were ignored all over the time, for the new arriving local Italians there was plenty attention.
After some time we arrived at our table. No service in explaining the menu. (Thank you google translate) So that was pritty hard. After ordering there was the first big mistake. We ordered wine, water and our food. The water was forgotten so we had to adress a waiter for that.
The first corse came and it supposed to be tartar with buratta. Afterwards I call it chopped meet with a mozerella look a like. Worst buratta i have ever seen (can't even call it Mozarella), bad quality meet and no flavors within the tartar.
Then the main corse. We orderd bistecca Fiorentina. It was made on a open grill outside. There was also a dog laying next to the grill. The chef multiple times touched the dog en dived back in to the kitchen. Didn't see him washing his hands, the waiter afterwards said he did. The chef was also smoking in the end of the evening within the grill area. It looks nasty and I think it is not accepted in the HACCP rules. He also welcomed a lot of guest with a handshake. (is COVID-19 gone?) The salad we order was forgotten.
We orderd around 1 to max 1,2 kilo of meet. In the bill there was a +/-400 to 200 grams added to the bill. After complaining to the waiter about the amount and the other mistakes he reduced the bill without hasitating with around 10%. My complimants to his service all over the evening.
However the 'older' staff was not friendly and was very highclass looking, local people orientated. My assumption, or the feeling that they gave us. Maybe a difference in perspective but its the ambiance they are creating.
Some tips: Hire more people on monday because you send away a lot of people and had enough space. You guys are lossing money. Make an English menu Be more friendly to tourists. Let your older staff learn English Get an electronic restaurant system, paper writing causes mistakes and is pre 2000. Talk to you grill chef about the health and COVID-19 regulations. Buy good buratta, this is an insult to the Italian cuisine. Buy new umbrellas, they should be white but they are black.
Good points: The young waiter The ambiance
You have such a beautiful restaurant, do better. Or don't pretend you a higher class restaurant an be one...
Read moreI love Toscana... but start to suspect that "Toscanian" food is NOT for me.
We got it from the waitress that their specialty is meet... T-bone steak to be specific... we took it gladly...
How can anyone like this tasteless tough impossible to grind peace of impossible to swallow thing??
Not even mentioning top US steak houses... even in Israel if some good steak house would have served something like this it would have been returned immediately...
Or maybe they noticed that we are tourists... and gave us the worst meat they have???
After the disappointment from the day beflre restaurant ("Toscanian" food too)... I start to really wonder...
But in this case... worse came to worst... we ordered two deserts... some compensation was really needed... 30 minutes... nothing arrived... so we ordered the check... another 10 minutes passed... nothing.
We got up and demanded to pay immediately...
Yes, it can happen to anyone... but then the steak... and the previous restaurant...
I start to daydream about... pizza and Pasta...
... and we are in traveling in Italy...
Tomorrow is another...
Read moreWe arrived as a pax of 4+1 and would normally recommend to book in advance as the restaurant filled up very quickly! Tried a couple of their dishes including the burrata with salami and lettuce, pecorino fondue which didn’t come with enough bread (we added truffle to this which was €4), the sausage pasta and duck as our mains and the fried donuts and deconstructed tiramisu for dessert. A tiramisu needs the lady fingers to soak so a deconstructed one didn’t really make sense. The restaurant itself was a vibe with one of their specials is the Tuscan steak which was cut and cooked by the fire for everyone to watch - super cool. Also kid friendly with a high chair available. This was slightly pricier than other places but worth trying if you’re stoping...
