Favilla si mangia, si beve — Restaurant in Asolo

I frequently travel to the Montebelluna and Asolo area for business and have had the privilege of visiting some excellent restaurants thanks to local colleagues. Today, I had the pleasure of dining at Favilla si mangia, si beve in Asolo. Unfortunately, I was dining alone, which meant I couldn’t share this incredibly delicious and creative meal with anyone.

A big compliment to the kitchen and the staff—they truly did an amazing job. I had a three-course meal, and every single dish was exceptionally tasty and innovative. The craftsmanship in each dish was outstanding, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The wine selection was also excellent and perfectly complemented the meal.

Walking in, the place feels cool—energetic in that instantly recognizable New York or LA way. The food? Solid. The wine list? Borderline obnoxious, though the pricing is surprisingly fair. Just know: unless you’re a local or a trained sommelier, you’ll need guidance—the price tags rise with name recognition, not necessarily quality.

The pasta was excellent, the seafood respectable. The tiramisu, though, was a misstep—undercut by ladyfingers that felt rushed, likely assembled less than an hour before service.

Purtroppo l'esperienza non è stata delle migliori nonostante le aspettative fossero alte. Abbiamo telefonato venerdì 30 agosto per prenotare un tavolo per due persone per le 21 del 31 agosto. Nessuno ha mai risposto alle ripetute telefonate. Abbiamo quindi inviato un'email e gentilmente abbiamo avuto risposta e conferma della prenotazione. Prima nota negativa: se non si risponde al telefono è difficile che si riesca a prenotare...

Arrivati sabato 31 alle 21.00 abbiamo detto di aver prenotato ma nessuno ha verificato la prenotazione e ci hanno fatto scegliere un tavolo all'aperto a piacere.

Abbiamo ordinato e cinque stelle per i piatti proposti sono meritate. Tutto ottimo e ben presentato.

Il resto un disastro: mezz'ora per avere il vino dopo aver sollecitato due volte la carta dei vini. Il vino è arrivato a una temperatura troppo alta da renderlo non bevibile. Il pane non è mai arrivato mentre gli altri tavoli lo avevano. Abbiamo terminato la cena e nessuno ci ha chiesto se volessimo un dessert, un caffè, altri piatti... nulla.... potevamo rimanere per ore nel totale disinteresse dei camerieri che erano evidentemente inesperti e poco interessati alla clientela.

Mi alzo per pagare, manifesto il mio disappunto e mi viene fatto uno sconto sul prezzo e mi viene regalato il vino che valeva oltre 30 euro. Evidentemente lavorate bene così... disinteresse per i clienti e poi regalate il vino e fate lo sconto....
