Pizzeria Ristorante AL RIO — Restaurant in Auronzo di Cadore

Based on the reviews of this restaurant on Google, we were excited to try it, especially the pastas. We arrived and I was ignored for such a long time at the desk that two older local men admonished the worker on his cell phone to help us. While I waited, they seated two other parties who came after us. I guess I was doing something wrong by standing at the host deck. Anyway, we sat down and were informed that the chef was sick so nothing but pizza was served. The kids were happy, I was not. I ordered what I thought was vegetarian pizza, but it had meat on it so I could t eat it. Othi g else was offered and I went home hungry. In general, they didn’t care about anyone and seemed stressed trying to keep up.

Two nights later we went back to sample the highly lauded Pasta. Perhaps we’re foolish to expect anything g different. No chef, no pasta, only pizza. Once again I was ignored while other parties arriving after me were seated. In both visits there was no parking available, but we didn’t let that hassle stop us from leaving and going elsewhere where we had the best pizza on our whole trip (Pizzaria Antiqua) just down the street.

Maybe something has changed since the positive reviews of this place were written. But it was less than stellar both...

We went to Al Rio all three nights that we were in Arunzo and the food was really good. On the first night, we had a ham pizza which was really good value for money and tasty, pork scallops of which we got three humongous scallops which were extremely tasty which was served with salad on the side was a massive portion, German Knödels of which we got three and a side portion potatoes which was tasty but unnecessary as the other three dishes already filled the three of us up. On the second night, we a penne Ragu alla Bolognese which had a really good sauce and nicely done pasta. On the last day, we had Penne Ragu alla Bolognese, pork scallops and spinach tagliatelle with mushroom which was really tasty. Overall, the food was amazing and the...

Yesterday I came with my wife and we enjoyed the food. The next day we came again early at 6:30 PM unfortunately the waiter was not welcoming at all and there were a-lot of empty tables but she insisted on letting us to set next to the door table which was very small with one chair, we asked her to change the table but she said other tables for 4 persons only, while there were nobody in the restaurant expect one family. However, as a tourist we felt uncomfortable and were are not welcomed at the restaurant so we left. I recommend the food there but the attitude...
