Our favourite spot!

We have had the absolute pleasure of staying in the simply stunning, picturesque village of Badolato for 3 months now - and it has been made so very special by our regular trips to La Cantinetta!

The atmosphere and vibe here is so unique - it's relaxing and calming yet lively and upbeat.

Mimo, the owner, is the most incredible person who goes out of his way to ensure that you are having a great time - and always goes the extra mile to talk to us and make us warm and welcomed. As does Pina, Francesco, Rene - the awesome Dutch waiter and Alfonso - the crazy chef!

The food is simply gorgeous here - and we enjoyed their Classica pizza and also their Drunk Pig pizza very much. Also - their Limoncello Creme is the best in Italy!

They also have a takeout option - which we did make the most of on a couple of hungover occasions.

We have had countless boozy evenings in La Cantinetta - and plenty of times singing with Mimo whilst he plays his guitar. They also loved our little dog Monty - who took a particular liking to Mimo!

Please do not hesitate to enjoy a blissful, Calabrian evening here - I promise that you will not regret it!

A lovely setting in the main piazza of Badolato. We had great expectations but we’re quite disappointed with the food. The soup was bland and flavourless, the cannelloni stuffed with ricotta was very dry (the ricotta was really firm and there was virtually no sauce, think it may have been reheated a couple of times) and the mixed salad was iceberg lettuce with chunks of tomato and cucumber slices (only olive oil to add to it). On the positive side the pizza was fairly good. Seemed pricey compared to other similar restaurants we’ve eaten at in the region and...

Really enjoyed our meal here from start to finish. The service was so lovely and while no one else was there, as it was off season, he put on music and created a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious. We got local harvest olive oil, two days old, absolutely delicious as was the house red wine. The zuppa faglioli was molto Buono 🥰🥰😋 would definitely go back and was very happy with our little meal...
