Over the past 10 years my wife and I had visited the restaurant at Locanda di Pietracupa on many occasions and have come to consider it one of our favorites in Tuscany. In 2013 we finally discovered that they also had four rooms for rent above the restaurant. When we then planned our May 2015 trip to Tuscany we abandoned a previous B&B near San Gimignano that we had used on several occasions and booked Pietracupa instead. We were very satisfied!||||We stayed six nights in the Verde room on the back side of the building. Very quiet and comfortable all during our stay. The weather was comfortable during the late May period and the room does have high ceilings with a ceiling fan. Bed and bath were all very comfortable. The breakfasts prepared by Monica were outstanding. As the inn only has four rooms, and most of the other rooms were occupied by business travelers, on many mornings we had the breakfast room to ourselves. San Donato in general is also quite convenient to explore Chianti and easy to access the four-lane highway to either Florence or Siena. We were very happy with our decision to choose Locanda di Pietracupa and we very much plan to...

La Locanda di Pietrecupa is our favourite place to stay when in Tuscany. Many years we have spent our holidays in this area in a house that we rented and at those occasions we've frequented the restaurant. A few months ago we have visited Tuscany with friends and for our accomodation we had choosen to stay in the Locanda di Pietrecupa, of course. The Locanda offers four comfortable rooms, besides there is a nice garden to enjoy when you want to relax or read a book and leave the many tourist attractions in the surroundings for what they are. We stayed for more then a week in the Locanda , the breakfast was very good and as before it appeared to be an excellent place for wining and dining. We feel at home in the Locanda and want to make the owners a...

I come here regularly – and every time, I’m amazed. The truffle pasta has become a tradition for me, and it’s simply divine. The waiters are exceptionally attentive, friendly, and offer excellent recommendations – the wine choices, like the Bucciarelli Chianti Classico Riserva, have always been spot on. La Locanda di Pietracupa is a truly special place: elegant yet never pretentious. You can feel the dedication of the two female chefs in every dish. It’s a place to enjoy, to relax – right in the heart of Chianti. Absolutely recommended!

This is a review of the restaurant only. It was just OK in a sea of amazing Tuscan options. First the service was so-so; one waiter looked incredibly bored while we struggled to get another's attention. The biggest issue was the food. While the menu is creative, execution was lacking. The pigeon was dry and difficult to get down; no amount of truffles could cover that up. The Foie Gras stuffed duck was OK but nothing to write home about. I will say it was well attended and seems loved by locals but it didn't do it for us.

Mettono a disagio.
