Kalos Beach — Restaurant in Barletta

CAREFUL! Dangerous tourist scam place! It was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. First of all the waitor could not speak a single word in English and therefore it was very hard to communicate. We did not get a menu and he right away offered us the most expensive meal they had. THEY DID NOT TELL US ANY PRICES. They gave us 1 piece of mozzarella and 3-4 slices of prosciutto and a focaccia. After eating on the unromantic plastic chairs (which we paid 2 euro each to sit on) we got a bill of 48€ (for 3 persons) !! When asking for why it was so expensive the waitor was unfriendly and we weren't able to communicate with him at all. I have never paid so much money for so less and disgusting food. All in all this place lacked everything a good restaurant needs and the prices were in absolutely no relation to the quality and quantity of the food. Worst...

This is a very good place. The owners do their best to be accomodating and professional, and believe me when I say that in Barletta is always a sort of impossible mission (unfortunately). I say it because I’ve just read some negative comments and I know how committed the owners are, but also how crazy and ridiculous some situations can be to deal with. You can judge by yourself by reading some of the 1-star reviews (fortunately many of those are older than 2 years). We had lunch today and it was better than many other restaurants within the old town. The sea is acceptable but that’s not of them. The young folks working on the beach could be more proactive and gentle, but they’ve never been rude or lazy, just a bit slow. Overall my experience is great. THIEVES!! Sadly after having a really good food, we had to pay a crazy amount because of a bad communication of the waiters. The fish we ordered was over so they offered us a new one, saying its the same... but it was more expensive (double). They didn't even accept their mistake and we were forced to pay the price. It sucks. Even if the food was good, I can not give a good review for a bad attitude like that... They are just trying to steal money from...
