Heralubra — Restaurant in Baunei

We wish we had come here sooner but once we found it, we returned several times. There was one guy in there every time and his work ethic was amazing. We placed a fairly big order every time and he did it all by himself, surprisingly quickly!

If you’re going out on the boat for a day, you have to stop here. You can order lunch at any time of the day so if you are there for breakfast time, you can get that plus pack something for later on the water. The pasta is fresh and so flavorful. The cappuccino was delicious every single time. The sandwiches are out of this world. Seriously all of the food was incredible and I can’t say enough great things!!!

We ordered lunch takeaway on our last day in town so we could have food for our road trip and everything was still good, hours later, at room temperature.

I’ve finished cooking school, so I’ve had the chance to taste a lot of different dishes – and honestly, I’ve definitely had better. The lasagna portion was really small for the price, and the Caesar salad had way too much garlic and not enough seasoning overall. The chicken had barely any flavor – it could’ve used some herbs or spices, and it was almost undercooked.

On the positive side, the traditional local dish we tried was actually very tasty, and the dessert was also a pleasant surprise. The service was friendly – young staff who speak good English. We were very fortunate to learn from Stella and Sara how to make traditional sardinian Culurgiones ourselves, and it was an unforgettable experience! They are both incredibly warm, authentic, and patient. With great joy and love, they guided us step by step through the cooking class. Not only did we have a lot of fun, but we also learned a lot about sardinian cuisine.

Cooking together and then eating the food we made was a real highlight, it was incredibly delicious and full of flavor. We will fondly remember this day and are already looking forward to seeing them again.
