MeC Puddu's — Restaurant in Baunei

The food and ambiance was really nice, the only thing is that we were not able to enjoy out meals fully as we had to wait more than 1 hour to be served! After seeing two tables arrived after us being served, we finally see the waitress arriving with one of the ordered plate, my boyfriend gently let her know that we've been waiting one hour and which was very upsetting. She does NoT apologize (which should be the first reflex when working in customer service) and tried to defend the fact we had to wait so long cause it was busy that evening, ( bear in mind that two tables of 6 and 4 arrived after us had been served before we did and we were only two ordering steaks and fries). We tell her that we understand, and that my boyfriend has been working in hospitality for 8 years in London so we appreciate that but it is still not good reason and we had been served again after these 2 full tables. She then still not apologizes and got quite rude to be honest and said " if you can't understand that it's a busy night then you have obviously never been in that situation" she then just left. We were disappointed by the food here. It was recommended to us but there are better places to eat in the area. I had the steak which was so fatty I had to send it back and in all fairness to the staff they offered me an alternative quickly - unfortunately the alternative was bland meatballs. My wife had a pizza that wasn't great at all - I'm not sure how you can wrong with pizza in Italy but unfortunately they did. We have travelled to lots of places in Italy and the food standards were not great, especially for the price. The restaurant itself is nice and staff were attentive and friendly. Very nice restaurant, modern, well kept and clean, located in Santa Maria Navarrese (away from the beach) small city that I love. We were there for dinner in the huge and beautiful balcony, which do not provide a nice view since there's a building just beside, bit it allow to stay outside. Personnel is nice and efficient, even with a lot of people they managed everything and everybody. We got pizza, very good, excellently cooked and very tasty. The dough remains soft as I like, not crispy. The prices are a bit above the average, maybe due to the location and very touristic area. I will come back for sure, but this time for eating the various typical sardegna dishes presented in the menu...
