La Mangeria — Restaurant in Bevagna

This unassuming farmstay reminded us to slow down, leave your old life behind for a few days and appreciate the change in pace. The view of the warm Umbria valley below is relaxing if your mind allows it. What they advertise they delivered to us with genuine hospitality, they are kind and friendly. At the time, they also spoke English and Spanish. Our visit to this working farm was 3 days in April. The black and white farm dog is so proud of her chickens, the olive trees shade the working goats, and the green life in the Rosemary on the property gives a natural aroma of calm. Local people come for dinner so make reservations and a commitment to arrive during the service time; they are busy. At night all is quiet, you can sometimes hear the coyotes down in the valley and in the morning the birds sing. Breakfast is a wonderful seasonal harvest from the farm. We felt very safe and cared for by the family, Marco and Alex are so knowledgeable, peaceful and thoughtful...

Attratti dalle stelle (magari il cibo è buono davvero) prenotiamo alle 18.30 per le 20. Ci troviamo in un ambiente fatiscente e affatto curato. Ci sediamo in una stanzetta piccola con poca luce e spoglia. Dopo aver ricevuto bevande e menù dal ragazzo, aspettiamo la proprietaria (?) per prendere l'ordine. Ci dice di aspettare, ridacchiando. Poi però procede a servire un tavolo più numeroso arrivato dopo di noi (6 invece di 2) e ridono tutti allegramente. La chiamiamo due volte, ma pare (...) non sentire... Attendiamo ancora, ma nulla. Ci alziamo dopo 30 min. di attesa, passandole di fianco all'uscita. Ci guarda e neppure saluta. Malauguratamente avevamo lasciato il cellulare nella fretta di alzarci. Il mio compagno torna a prenderlo, ricevendo un lapidario: "Ha lasciato il cellulare". Fine della storia. Bah....

Il locale è molto rustico, e ci sta. Siamo rimasti delusi dal tagliere misto freddo /caldo, pochi affettati e formaggi e quantità generale non proprio sufficiente, visto che ci è stato suggerito un tagliere per 2 persone. Buono il primo. Do tre stelle per generosità, se il tagliere fosse stato all'altezza avrei dato anche 4 stelle.

"Carissimo" l'ordinazione è stata presa tutta insieme dalla cameriera, pertanto sapeva benissimo cosa avremmo mangiato quando ha suggerito un tagliere per 2 persone. A dirla tutta il tagliere proposto non avrebbe soddisfatto nemmeno una persona. Se rileggi la mia recensione non ne ho fatto una questione di prezzo ma di quantità.
