L˜ARIA — Restaurant in Blevio

We stayed at Mandarin Oriental Lake Como and had dinner at the L'Aria restaurant for two nights in a row. The setting is really beautiful, the tables are nicely set up with romantic lights on each table. Great view over the lake. The hostess at the entrance was very kind and cooperative. We had some starters from the menu and all were very good and delicious. The main courses we had were nothing special, pasta was not good both days, it was ok but really nothing special at all. The reason I give it only three stars is the service. It was not good. It was actually bad. We had empty glasses of wine all the time and nobody to fill them up. We had to do the wine ourselves. There were many waiters in the restaurant but not one dedicated for you who you can ask for anything. Both days we had dinner there the service was the same. We really didn't understand how it was possible to had such bad service with so many staff...

I have never ever written a review on Google but I feel compelled to write one on this place, only with the sincere hope that the management of this restaurant catches this review and improves the quality of the food served to be at par with the level of the property it’s located in. The hotel is fantastic. Everything about the food however was utterly disappointing. Under the disguise of being an Italian and Japanese fusion, it failed on both fronts. Extremely salty dishes, disappointing choice of options (ie Meat Gyoza as an appetizer at an ultra luxury hotel…), waitress failed to informed my fish appetizer is essentially the same thing as my entree, I wasn’t even served my utensils, staff was moving a chair and scratched my jacket with a leg of the chair… I can understand bad service but this menu and the cooking was extremely disappointing, couldn’t wait for it to finish. In and out in 50 minutes… go...

My recent dining experience at L˜ARIA was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was inviting and sophisticated. The food was exquisite – each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. However, what truly elevated our evening was the outstanding service we received.

In particular, I would like to extend a special thank you to Sonali Choudhury. Her attentiveness, warmth, and genuine care made us feel incredibly welcome and well-looked after. She was knowledgeable about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect. Sonali's professionalism and friendly demeanor are a real asset to L˜ARIA.
