I had possibly the worst italian food i have ever tasted here. The warning signs were apparent when ordering our drinks, the waiter went in with a very hard sell on the bottles of wine (which you woyld when you are selling €5 bottles of wine for €16!!) after asking twice for the house white wine a jug of yellow/orange liquid was bought out to us, it almost tasted like cider and certainly not wine it was foul. In his credit the waiter replaced it without argument and the bottle of wine he bought out was the nicest part of the meal! My starter of insalata caprese came out swimming in olive oil! On closer inspection the chopped tomatoes were sat on cheap, pre-sliced, processed and rubbery mozzarella it had some basil chopped over it and for some reason what looked like dried herbs?? We also ordered prawn and zucchini pasta, this was the most edible part of the meal but consisted of plain pasta with cooked zucchini and a chopped up langoustine being tipped over it. There was no evidence of it being in any real sauce apart from the cooking juices and some of the pasta was just plain and dry. We both had pizzas my wife had prosciutto with mushrooms and it came out almost soaking wet and devoid of any flavour with cheap ham having been used rather than decent prosciutto that just contributed to the liquid that had soaked into the pizza. I had a spicy sausage pizza that whilst again consisted of a cheap spicy sausage rather than an authentic local one was pleasant for the first couple of slices. However as the pizza cooled the cheap cheese started to congeal into lumps within oil again making the meal inedible. We were offered no money off our bill and the waiter seemed aware that the food was of an appalling standard as he could not stop apologising. I would strongly recommend not wasting your money at this rip off...
Read moreThe food here is subpar. The frittura mista has a thick batter and is heavily/deep fried. The pizzas are okay but the kiosk across the road have much better ones the ice creams in the gelateria are stale and expensive. the smallest ball cost €2. They couldn’t make it smaller if they tried. No offer of an after meal drink which is normal around here. There are several waitresses who are clearly untrained. The manager just berates and shouts at them. They try hard but have little direction. Chips arrived undercooked. Food arrived after one hour and 45 minutes of waiting. There were perhaps no more than 15 to 20 customers in the restaurant. no apology was given. No one asked what we thought of our meal. No one seemed to care. We will not be going again. The price here is a circa 25% premium to the kiosk which does not have the same level of sophistication in theory, but given all of the above, the premium is certainly...
E poi arrivano i primi.
