A Paranza — Restaurant in Campofelice di Roccella

ITA: La serata è stata una vergognosa odissea. Arrivati alle 20.30, iniziamo con l'ordinazione che arriva a fatica e dobbiamo chiamare il cameriere più volte. Dopo l'antipasto, arrivato in tempi idonei, il secondo (una frittura di pesce chiamata paranza ordinata da tutti al tavolo) è arrivato con estremo ritardo, più di un'ora e mezza, e dopo ripetute richieste di informazioni. Alla seconda richiesta, una cameriera è risultata non solo sgarbata, ma ha anche insultato e offeso paragonandoci a "clientela del McDonald's". Non solo, all'arrivo della frittura questa era fredda indice in un ritardo copioso della comanda al pass. Inoltre, la frittura era gommosa, scarsa considerando il prezzo pagato, e "allungata" con teste di gambero. Inoltre, in seguito al pagamento della serata la cassiera ci ha chiesto come fosse andata, e spiegandole le vicessitudini passate la signora ha ben deciso di sbraitare, gridando tra l'altro un "vada via" alquanto sgarbato in risposta a lamentele pacate. Ma non finisce qui, il titolare ci ha inseguito fuori dal locale definendo "una minaccia" la recensione negativa che abbiamo anticipato. Infine, eravamo circondati da tavoli che non venivano sparecchiati e lasciati pieni di immondizia nonostante il ripetuto passaggio dei camerieri. Insomma, una serata disastrosa e alla faccia del commento nel menù in cui si dice che le lamentele sono ben apprezzate al fine di migliorare! Per ultimo, lo stupore per un locale denominato "a paranza" che serve un piatto così scarno e di qualità scadente!

ENG: The evening was a shameful odyssey. Arriving at 8:30 p.m., we start with the order which arrives with difficulty and we have to call the waiter several times. After the appetizer, the main dish (a fish fry called "paranza" ordered by everyone in our table) arrived extremely late, more than a hour and half, and after repeated requests for information. Furthermore, a waitress was extremely rude by comparing us to "McDonald's customers". The arrived fry was cold indicating a copious delay of the service other than chewy, poor considering the price paid, and with too much shrimp heads. Following payment, the cashier asked us how the evening had gone, and explaining what happened, the lady well decided to rant shouting among other things a rather rude "go away" in response to calm complaints. Furthermore, the owner chased us out of the restaurant calling the negative review we anticipated as a threat. Finally, we were surrounded by not cleaned tables left full of garbage despite the repeated passing of waiters. In short, a disastrous evening and so much for the comment in the menu saying that complaints are well appreciated in order to improve! This restaurant was recommended by our taxi driver and it definitely did not disappoint. It was the only restaurant in the whole area that was completely full, but the staff were happy to find a table for two. The menu was varied and the food was delicious, the best we've had so far in Sicily and the staff were extremely patient and attentive considering we are English and spoke very little Italian. The price was very reasonable considering the high standard of food served. Last but not least, there was a wonderful, mainly Sicilian family atmosphere that you can't put a price on! On our way back to Palermo we decided to make a short detour. We came across this restaurant. To our amaze. I ordered the menu fisso. It was 30 euros. I GOT 2 antipasti, a risotto , a pasta, fried fish plate , a glass of white wine and a Cafe. Beside the splendid value. The taste was amazing. It was both economically delicious. Also the staff was very friendly. We got a table facing the beach. Overall Experience 11/10. I would recommend...
