Octopus - Elba — Restaurant in Capoliveri

Very nice location with fantastic view. Food was actually very good but there where a few things which basically ruined our dinner. We waited 20 min to order eventhough she told us to be back in 5 mins. During this time we told more than once that we are ready to order. The first time the waiter came and asked if we have ordered already, after we said we didn‘t he just replied with „okay“, left and nothing happened for another 10 mins before we told one more time that we would like to order. After we finally ordered, he first brought us the wine, which was a regular 75cl bottle although we ordered a small 37,5cl one (which was an option in the menu). We told him this must be a mistake and he just said „this is the only one they’ve got“, opened the bottle instantly and asked who wants to try. After some more time, one pizza came about 5 mins before the second one. At this point we told that we actually ordered a starter which didn‘t came yet. They brought it just a few mins later so it cooled out while we ate our pizza‘s and was not enjoyable anymore. Another disappointment was the „gourmet pizza“ which was 25% higher priced than the regular ones but with the only real difference of being slightly thicker but also significantly smaller in diameter. The 5-6 small cocktail shrimps were certainly not enough to make it „gourmet“ in my opinion. At this point we just wanted to pay the bill and leave and also asked to do so. At the end the waiter asked if everything was alright and we replied that actually it wasn‘t. He didn‘t seem to care at all and just cleaned the table and left again, so we were not able to specify what wasn‘t okay in our opinion. Personally I think it‘s a matter of respect to listen to the guests in such a situation, but at least we were able to leave soon this way. To their defence it seemed like a very busy evening that day and I am pretty sure this was far from their best...

We were told upon arrival that the restaurant was unable to provide pizza, as they had run out of pizza dough. A bit strange, but fair enough. We asked about alternative vegetarian options and were given a very enthusiastic “well yes of course”. We were then settled on the terrace, where a rather cold wind was blowing and every other guest had asked to move inside - unfortunately we decided to brave it out. As it took about 15 minutes for the waitress to arrive to take our drinks order, we asked for Aperol Spritz in order to have a drink prior to eating. We ended up getting the menus ourselves, because we were fed up with waiting. To our surprise, there was one vegetarian antipasto - when the waitress finally came to take our order after about 30 minutes of waiting, she kindly agreed to provide spaghetti with vegetables, again not really what I expected, but fine nonetheless. The other order was a fish platter, that was very small and expensive in comparison to every other restaurant we have been to in the area and only two of the six shells had anything in them. The bottle of wine we ordered never arrived. When we told the waitress that the wine never arrived after our food arrived one and a half hours after we arrived, we changed the order to two glasses. These were kindly taken off the bill to make up for the poor service. Although a nice gesture, it did not save the dinner from being somewhat of an almost two hour disaster in a half...

A cena con la famiglia... Un disastro...Lascio questa recensione con la speranza di aiutare i gestori a migliorare drasticamente il servizio e la preparazione dei piatti, Tavolo all'aperto ci mettiamo a sedere,sul tavolo ne tovaglia e neanche una tovagliette mono uso, mettono direttamente i tovaglioli sul tavolo con le posate sopra, portano i bicchieri e li mettono con il bordo appoggiato sul tavolo, ripeto sul tavolo c'era solo una cosa di plastica sopra e non e stata neanche pulita, arriva il menù sembrava di essere in un locale stellato piatti elaboriosi che lasciavano ben sperare, purtroppo delusione totale, Paccheri con il polpo... sembravano fatti con ragù di pesce nei barattoli Pici cacio pepe vongole e tartar di tonno... Impresentabili, nessun sapore 4 vongole e la tartar di tonno buttata sopra senza un perché il tonno tra l'altro dal sapore non buono, Gamberi grigliate di un odore fortissimo, serviti su una crema di fagioli neri con delle patate arrosto vecchie ma vecchie,il tutto senza nessuno tipo di sapore, Si e salvata la pizza. Ambiente freddo e poco accogliente, vado a pagare sbagliano il conto facendomi pagare di meno, torno e glielo faccio notare, insomma abbiamo pagato 109€, anzi no 107€ perché mi hanno fatto 2 euro di sconto perché ho fatto notare l'errore.... Io mi auguro vivamente che voi gestori via siate almeno resi conto della cena con servizio ,prodotti e preparazione scadente che ci avete servito anche perché non ci avete mai chiesto come fosse andata la cena,... Se cosi non fosse sarebbe grave, io sinceramente mi sono sentito defraudato, e a te avventore che leggi questa recensione spero di aiutarti...
