Osteria Zimbo — Restaurant in Castelfiorentino

First good impressions are always decisive! We arrived at Zimbo just as the kitchen was closing. However, the owner kindly offered us a seat, smiled, took immediate action, and after an appetiser of fried warm bread, we were served a fantastic lunch (!) consisting of seafood and pizza. The portions were large and very tasty, and the personal attention and hospitality were even better. Best food we had in Italy!! We have been eating at all kind of restaurants in all of Tuscany for every lunch and dinner for the past 10 days and this one was the very best!

The food was fresh and so delicious. The portions was large, and everything was so tasty and well prepared. Ein kleines, nettes und schönes Lokal, mit einem sehr freundlichem und zuvorkommenden Besitzer. Bevor wir etwas bestellt haben, gab es ein sehr leckeres Pizzabrot aufs Haus. Dann bestellten wir 3 Pizzen und eine Calzone. Die Pizzen waren alle sehr lecker und großzügig belegt. Besonders zu loben ist allerdings die Calzone. Auf meinen Wunsch hin wurde sie mit Pilzen, Schinken und Büffelmozzarella gefüllt. Und das reichlich! Auch der besondere Teig eignet sich perfekt für eine gute Calzone. Vielleicht die beste Calzone, die ich bis jetzt gegessen habe. Als "Nachtisch" bestellten wir uns noch eine Platte mit gegrillten/gebrateten Meeresfrüchten. Sie war nicht nur sehr schön und liebevoll angerichtet, sondern schmeckte auch hervorragend! Ein großes Lob an die Köchin! Nachdem wir bezahlt hatten, fragte ich den Besitzer noch wo man hier in der Nähe Fußballtrikots kaufen könnte. Als er mit seiner Beschreibung zum nächsten Sportladen fertig war, griff er nach seinen selbst bedruckten "Zimbo-Trikots" und schenke mir eins.
