TERRIBLE SERVICE – NOT WORTH THE VISIT

The food was absolutely incredible—probably one of the best we’ve had—but the service was so appalling that it completely ruined the experience. We only stuck it through because the food was amazing.

We made a reservation in advance, specifically mentioning that it was for our anniversary celebration, but nothing was done to acknowledge this special occasion. We also requested a seat with a view, but when we were seated and I brought it up, the manager dismissed me, saying the table was “reserved for other guests.” This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional, considering we had also requested it when booking.

On top of that, the service throughout the evening was terrible. We had to refill our own wine, repeatedly ask for water, and handle basic needs ourselves. To make matters worse, the manager was openly arguing with their own staff, shouting so loudly that the entire restaurant could hear. It was awkward and uncomfortable for everyone dining there.

While the food was undeniably excellent, the atmosphere and service were so bad that it completely overshadowed it. I would not recommend this place unless you’re only here for takeout or care nothing about...

We booked a table at OSTERIA DEL GRIGIO for the second day of our stay in San Felice. The hostess showed us to the table and immediately offered us water — however, we had to wait about 20 minutes for it to arrive. We also waited around 15 minutes for the menu, and only received it after reminding the staff twice.

We ordered a Florentine steak, three types of salads, and red wine. The steak was average, nothing exceptional, especially considering the level of the restaurant and our expectations.

I would also like to point out the sommelier service: throughout the entire dinner, not once did they come over to refill our wine glasses, which is unacceptable for a restaurant of this level.

Another disappointing detail concerns how the service is organized: waiters use a small side table to serve the dishes, which in itself is fine, but surprisingly, they left that service table next to our table with dirty dishes from other guests placed on it. This completely ruins the dining experience and should be reconsidered.

We are staying at Borgo San Felice and absolutely love the hotel. Unfortunately, would strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant for dinner. While the atmosphere is very nice (beautiful tables outside and scenery), the food was just ok/pretty pricey, and the service was abysmal. We left a little shocked that this restaurant is allowed to exist at this nice of a hotel. The staff were nice enough but super disorganized and it took forever to get attention from anyone. It took 15 mins to get menus after we sat, they never brought a wine list and asked for our food order before drinks, we waited 20 mins for someone to take our dessert order and ended up leaving. Overall bad experience and there were clearly worse issues happening with tables around us. Just go for a bottle of wine to enjoy the view, but worth the quick drive to a different nearby...
