We had a meal here and ordered the Steak Florentine which we were told was the best dish… we wanted the meat cooked to our liking which was medium… the waiter didn’t seem keen to listen to our request When the steak was delivered to our table it was very rare so we asked for it to be cooked longer… this seemed to upset the staff It was cooked a bit longer and we enjoyed the meat a lot more After this we were totally ignored by all the staff… our plates were not removed after we finished our meal and we were not offered dessert or more wine… Even when we went up to the Reception to pay our bill we had to wait several minutes before the junior waiter came over to do our payment Very disappointing that as a customer we were not able to get what we asked for… it seems that the staff were more concerned with doing what they wanted than listening to the customer request They saying goes “When in Rome do as the Romans do”… however there is also a saying that says “The customer is always right” … something that we found lacking in...

A Truly Authentic Tuscan Gem!

My latest visit was for a very special occasion—a baptism celebration—and, as expected, the food absolutely exceeded all expectations and delivered on its promise of authentic Tuscan flavor. I've dined here before, but this time was just as fantastic. The cuisine here is the definition of authentic Tuscan flavor. In particular, the Chianina sauce and the 'ombelichi' pasta (a specific, wonderful type of pasta) were truly exceptional. They transported me back in time, bringing to mind the rich, loving flavors of my grandmother's Sunday lunches. Beyond the incredible food, the atmosphere is wonderfully comfortable and cozy. The staff were also incredibly kind and welcoming, adding to the overall wonderful experience.

Trovandomi in loco ho deciso, basandomi su TripAdvisor, di cenare in questo posto per mangiare una buona fiorentina. Il ristorante è composto da una sala interna molto grande ed una piccola veranda interna. Nonostante le dimensioni della sala principale alcuni tavoli sono un po' troppo attaccati. Per esempio il mio era separato da quello in cui cenava una famiglia di tre persone solo da un piccolo ripiano su cui erano appoggiati olio, aceto, e sale. Per fortuna si trattava di persone tranquille, altrimenti c'erano i presupposti per rovinarsi la cena. Mancando la disponibilità di tagli intorno ai 1000/1200 grammi ho ripiegato (si fa per dire) su una fiorentina da 1500 gr. Buona la carne, ma speravo mi arrivasse una "vera" fiorentina, mentre invece era una costata. D'accordo che in Toscana sul termine si gioca abbastanza, nel senso che la bistecca alla fiorentina può essere sia dalla parte del filetto sia dalla costola, ma nei ristoranti più attenti i due tagli vengono differenziati (anche dal punto di vista del prezzo). Come vino la scelta è caduta su un vino locale "a km zero". Non era male, ma in tutta la serata non è riuscito mai ad esprimersi in quanto è stato tenuto ad una temperatura troppo bassa. Presumibilmente in frigo. Anche se non ad una temperatura bassissima, ma comunque sufficiente a tarparne il gusto. Avrei dovuto rimandarlo indietro, ma non avendo voglia di questionare ho lasciato perdere. Tra l'altro mi sono accorto troppo tardi anche dell'annata eccessivamente vetusta. Un 2012 per quel tipo di vino era davvero troppo. Infatti il colore non era rubino ma tendeva al marsalato. Mea culpa. La prossima volta farò più attenzione. Dopo la costata ho preso una porzione di cantucci col vin santo davvero buoni. Più morbidi e gustosi della norma. Per finire un caffè ed un digestivo. Prezzi nella media e personale gentile.
