La Grigliata — Restaurant in Catania

Ok. So we were really looking forward to this restaurant and we knew the prices from a friend that lives near this restaurant and we wanted to see the prices when they know that we are not locals. 3 stars goes here just because the food was ok, mine chicken wasn’t that nice but nevertheless, the appetiser was nice and potato also and my boyfriend liked his meat. And also very clean! So, you don’t get the menu or the prices. When we ordered I started thinking about the prices and no menu thing so I kindly asked the lady if she can just let me know the prices(she already brought the appetisers by that time). And she brought us a receipt after quite a while, written on hand. So the appetiser for 2 was 8€, 4€ for service(that was added later), 4.5€ for chicken, 2€ for 2,5 dcl on red vine, 1 L of water 2€, 1 small plate of french fries 2,5€, 1 speck(meat stuffed with mozzarella and prosciutto)4,5€. Appetiser consisted of 3 pcs of zucchini, 4 pcs of eggplants, 8 small pcs of cheese, 4 slices of sausage, few olives and a bit of some cold meat. Appetiser was served on a small plate. When asked for the bill they didn’t tell us about additional 4€ for service charge. What the price would be if we didn’t ask for the receipt when we did, Lord knows. So 27€. Now, this is not about money but about knowing what the real price would be. We always tip and try to pay with cash so they can take the tip that day and not wait for the card tip or some don’t even have the option of tipping on card. But this time we didn’t. But you should say, you are a foreigner and this is the price you will pay and if you want sit, if not goodbye. Problem here is also that they don’t speak English, I speak a little Italian but wouldn’t understand when she would start explaining how much every single thing costs, as if there is no menu option in this restaurant😂 And have in mind, when it comes to size of portions, we were very happy we had pizza before coming here because my boyfriend would be starving🙈 So for the foreigners , ask first(let them write it down)and you will know. Inutile parlare della qualità della carne, le polpette di cavallo secche, lontane dagli standard catanesi , l'origano non aveva ne amore ne sapore. Sala piccola per il numero di tavoli che sono stati inseriti, e sopratutto il prezzo è eccessivo, il fattore che non utilizzano un menu scritto è un modo poco trasparente di lavorare (a parte che é illegale per una attività ristorativa) non dicono neanche i prezzi e pagare 1 polpetta e una salsiccia e un insalata di pomodoro 40 euro sinceramente mi sa di presa per il C** . Lo dico a nome di tutti coloro che fanno ristorazione a catania imprenditori validi che danno il massimo ce ne sono a quintali a catania, sinceramente non c'è bisogno di questa "macelleria gioelleria"(anche perché ripeto la qualità non è così esagerata direi al di sotto degli standard catanesi dunque per me vale 1 e do 1 solo per la gentilezza smisurata delle signore...
