Having arrived as a family of 5 at around 7:50pm, with no reservation, we were quickly accommodated and shown to a table. The owners wife (I think) noticed my daughter's birthday headband (she's only 8) and made a fuss of her, which made her feel special. Having seen a few reviews about a lack of English spoken by staff, we were prepared to get out good old Google translate. However there was no need. The staff all had a good level of English, more than enough to see us through. Also worth mentioning, we are in Italy! It is not an expectation for everyone to speak English. I don't see how people can go to a different country and complain that the residents don't speak their language?! For my main, I had the branzini - it was absolutely divine! The best fish I have ever tasted! I'd highly recommend it! As some have pointed out, service was a little slower than we are used to but again, we are in Italy. We know that the dining style here is slower paced and it was nice not to feel rushed. When paying, the owner and his wife (again, I think) made another fuss over my daughter's birthday and gave her a gift to take home - a homemade strawberry jam that they sell at the trattoria. This was such an unexpected and kind act by them and as you can imagine, delighted my daughter on her birthday meal. Thank you to the owners of the trattoria for making us feel so welcome and for making my daughter...
Read moreWe were 4 well mannered and normally dressed group of friends, who decided to grab a bite in the area Overpriced as hell. Don't buy the spinach pizza. The carbonara was average at best. The 2 person risotto is one portion basically, with 1 single shrimp on top (what a joke). I would expect this quality for a roadside kiosk, not an establishment with 1500 good reviews. The staff is rude and speaks barely any English. We felt like we are bothering the waitress by asking how we can pay. 0 atmosphere, no pepper, salt, condiments, oil on the table for guests. They basically just wanted our money and get us out as fast as possible.
Since I cannot respond, edit: You cannot deny the staff was rude and unwelcoming. Yes, he ate both parts of a 30 EURO risotto because the portion with 1 single shrimp was an insult. I was satisfied with my carbonara, but we were all hungry. We should not ask for seasoning, it should come at least when the waiter sets the table like anywhere else. And by the way this is the first bad review I left on any page ever , because I fully think it is deserved. And if at least 1 person reads it and decides not to eat there I'll be...
