Ristorante da Andrea — Restaurant in Cecina

We always spend 2 weeks in summer here for our holiday. We are from Switzerland. During these two weeks we eat here three times. It’s simply my favourite restaurant ever, and I have been in many restaurants all over, being a chef myself. It’s all fresh fish and seafood always tasty and delicious. Guests are mostly native Italians so this is no tourist spot, with authentic Italian fish dishes. We are already excited for next year, would always recommend it. Reservation is mandatory otherwise they will not have space (reservations only by phone). Not recommended for vegetarians or children that don’t like fish. And the view of the beach and sunset is simply amazing. The staff is always very welcoming and warm to us.

Edit: we returned both in 2022 and just now July 2023, still perfectly delicious as described above. As always the staff and owner provided beautiful evenings to remember. We will be back next year.

Edit 2024: We returned again to Andrea this year during our summer holiday. Once again we were shown why this is our favourite restaurant. The food was amazing, Andrea the boss even arranged for an order of fresh squid to be made especially for us. The team made us feel so welcomed, it was great seeing so many familiar faces, like coming back to your family. Esperienza meravigliosa al d’Andrea: servizio impeccabile, ambiente elegante e accogliente, cucina raffinata con piatti perfetti e vini eccellenti. Anche il nostro bimbo di 2,5 anni è stato accolto con grande attenzione. Indimenticabili i dessert, soprattutto il sorbetto al basilico, limone e olio d’oliva. Consigliatissimo!

Wir hatten das große Vergnügen, mit unserem 2,5-jährigen Sohn im d’Andrea in Marina di Cecina zu Abend zu essen – und es war von Anfang bis Ende ein wunderschöner Abend.

Schon beim Eintreten haben wir uns sofort wohlgefühlt: Der Service ist außergewöhnlich – freundlich, aufmerksam, nobel und zugleich herzlich persönlich. Man spürt echte Wertschätzung, die den ganzen Besuch zu etwas Besonderem macht. Das Ambiente ist stilvoll und einladend, mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet: bequeme Stühle, elegante Tischdecken, harmonisch passende Servietten – hier ist alles bis ins Kleinste durchdacht.

Die Karte ist fein und ausgewählt, mit einer gelungenen Mischung aus Klassikern und regionalen Einflüssen. Auch die Weinkarte überzeugt mit einer großartigen Auswahl an Tropfen aus der Toskana und ganz Italien. Die Weinempfehlung unseres Kellners war perfekt auf unsere Gerichte abgestimmt.

Ein besonderer Moment waren die kleinen Grüße aus der Küche: zuerst ein köstliches, noch warmes Walnussbrot, dann eine feine Fischmousse auf knusprigem Teig – beides wunderbar abgestimmt. Unser Sohn bekam liebevoll eine eigene Pasta angeboten und konnte so ebenso genießen wie wir. Diese Aufmerksamkeit hat uns sehr berührt.

Bei den Hauptspeisen entschieden wir uns für Crudo di mare mit Auster, Wolfsbarsch sowie Triglie alla livornese – alles perfekt zubereitet, geschmacklich auf den Punkt. Die Desserts krönten den Abend: ein raffiniertes Tiramisu und ganz besonders das Sorbet mit Basilikum, Zitrone und Olivenöl – frisch, überraschend und einfach fantastisch.

Wir möchten uns von Herzen bedanken – ihr habt uns einen unvergesslichen Abend geschenkt. Dieses Restaurant ist eine absolute Empfehlung für alle, die Wert auf hervorragende Küche, erstklassigen Service und ein stilvolles Ambiente legen.

Piatti saporiti, ma... Con una mano al portafoglio! Piatti presentati bene, ricercati e ingredienti freschi. Nota dolente è il rapporto quantità - qualità - prezzo. Ho optato per un primo di spaghetti ai frutti di mare: due forchettate di spaghettoni affogati nell'olio e insaporiti da spezie. Sopra le vongole e le cozze, non perfettamente pulite, non hanno probabilmente preso parte alla mantecatura. Risultato è un piatto tutto sommato superficiale ma dalle grandi potenzialità. Abbiamo deciso di concederci, vista la fame ancora persistente, un secondo di fritto misto. Anche qui la presentazione fa il più del piatto. Inconcepibile l'assenza di salviette umidificate per rinfrescarsi le mani dopo aver pulito il pesce. Dolce promosso, ma come detto inizialmente la quantità non giustificata dalla qualità, come ci si potrebbe aspettare da ristoranti di altro livello, costringe ad ordinare un antipasto oltre al primo oppure al secondo. Ecco quindi che a conti fatti dopo tantissimi ristoranti e altrettante recensioni, si sfiora la soglia dei 100 € a persona, bevendo acqua. TROPPO! Ambiente tranquillo, informale e romantico se si opta per la veranda sul mare. Personale professionale. Menu a la carte non molto chiaro nei primi, le proposte invece molto sfiziose.
