Trattoria Sant’Ambrogio — Restaurant in Cefalù

Trattoria Sant’Ambrogio is a tiny, local, family-run restaurant that completely stole my heart. We sat outside with a view over the sea, and the timing couldn’t have been better – the sun was setting and the whole sky turned gold and pink.

I had fresh seafood pasta, perfectly al dente and full of flavor, with ingredients that tasted like they’d just come from the market. My partner ordered the steak, which was tender and cooked exactly right. We shared a carafe of local wine that paired beautifully with both dishes.

FIRST: do not trust Google to get here. We went up a road STRAIGHT up and had to back down the entire thing. There is a lovely paved road that takes you there. If it feels wrong, it probably is. 😂 anyway, this was our favorite meal we had in Sicily. The people were so kind and the food was very fresh. We are here our last night and i would have come a few times had I known it was here. The grandma sitting in the inside watching her family cook is icing on the cake for the Sicilian experience of labor and love. Very very authentic. The village is gorgeous as well. Excellent food and kind of "feel like home" service. Every dish we ordered was amazing, full of flavour and fresh. Red prawns tartare with buffalo mozzarella it's something you will remember forever. Stuffed calamari as second dish is great. We also can recommend porcini pasta. Local wine also available in reasonable price. The restaurant is open from 19:00 during the weekdays. Access is not easy, you need to drive through small village buy it's nothing unusual in Sicily. Parking spaces are available down the road on the left side, just 2 mins walking distance from the entrance. Prices are similar to all good restaurants on the island...
