We had been in Ceglie so many times but never tried this restaurant before, so on this trip, we had the opportunity, and believe me, it didn't disappoint . We ordered " Antipasto della casa" and it was AMAZING! Every single dish was absolutely delicious, and the amount of food was generous . They produce their own wine, so we ordered their Rose' and the quality was like a good imported wine ( no cheap "Vino della casa" like other restaurants) Our server (Alessandro) was super friendly and attentive and didn't give us a tourist treatment. He just treated us like a local, so we felt really at home . The prices of the food are just right for the quality and the portions. We are definitely coming back to this restaurant.

I Capatosta, a family managed restaurant that's just a prized jewel in this peaceful town of Ceglie Messapica. If you're looking for a taste of amazing tradition food thats just made with pure LOVE like your nonna would make, this is the place for you. The twins did amazing with the front house service, the atmosphere was so delightful and fun, with all the funny quotations hanging on canvases. Food was BEYOND OUTSTANDING, with flavors dancing on our palates like pizzica/tarantella. If you come over during spring time, do ask for a plate of sautéed CARDI (cardoons, similar to artichoke hearts). Seafood as fresh as can be. All in all, 10 out of 10.

Con questa recensione, ci tengo a ringraziare il titolare del ristorante "I capatosta", ed ora vi spiego il perchè". Per una delle nostre sere in quel di Ceglie, cerchiamo un ristorante dove poter cenare, e cercando su internet, ci imbattiamo ne "I capatosta" e pertanto decidiamo di prenotare online. Essendo poco pratici di Ceglie, e dopo che il navigatore aveva deciso di non indicare correttamente l'ubicazione corretta del locale, riusciamo ad arrivare presso il ristorante. Voi vi chiederete e cosa c'è di strano? Di strano c'è che, essendoci persi per i vicoli di Ceglie, giungemmo in ritardo anche se di poco, rispetto alla prenotazione effettuata online. Giunti in loco, entriamo e ci interfacciamo direttamente con il proprietario, il quale ci riferisce che non risultava alcuna prenotazione a nostro nome, e che pertanto visto l'orario la cucina aveva iniziato le prime fasi di pulizia. A quel punto mostrai la prenotazione effettuata tramite il mio cellulare, e che stranamente non era visibile al proprietario tramite il suo. Nonostante questo inconveniente tecnico, il titolare, si rese subito molto disponibile. Ci fece subito accomodare, portandoci nell'immediato i menù. Vista l'ora tarda, ci facemmo consigliare dal suddetto, ed ordinammo una serie di portate comprendenti anche alcuni piatti tipici, di cui allego le foto. Se dovessi tornare a Ceglie Messapica, "I capatosta" è uno dei ristoranti in cui tornerei volentieri, vista l'accoglienza, la gentilezza ricevuta, e l'ottima qualità delle portate. I unfortunately didn't get to eat here, even though I wanted to get at least a dozen oysters, the tuna tartar, a main, and a dessert. Having reviewed the menue before arriving I knew exactly what I wanted. I was sat (reluctantly and with unpleasant attitude, ok maybe the man was having a hard day or whatever, so I ignored that). dining alone, 8 minutes went by without even the offer of water. Nobody came to the table. they were addressing tables around me but stuck me in a corner. I decided to ultimately leave as, even though service was still running 30 minutes before closing, they were actively ignoring me. Not even an offer of water is a bit... unusual for almost 10 minutes. Arrived at 14h on the nose, got up and...
