Upate- Angela Bascelli is the person lying not me. I did not ruin her cake. It was the end of the day. She would have likely thrown out the cake after me. There was almost no cake left. It was 1/4 of the cake left and from the remaining cake which was already hard and old, I cut a piece. She got extremely angry and came up to me with a frown saying I cut her cake crooked as if I did something intentionally wrong. The buffet was self service. All the same, only bland food here and also terrible service. I am from the USA where we have many buffets. I am always respectful and respect etiquette of buffet, taking small portions and never touching food with my hands. I have never been treated so badly in my life and humiliated. This situation also led to lots of conflict between myself and another person. I will never return to Chieti or the region of Abruzzo after how I was treated here.
They should have a sign outside that says “Italians only.”
Very terrible xenophobic people. From the moment I walked in, they had a problem with my accent. It was a buffet style meal. After dinner, I went to go get a slice of cake. There was a small pistachio cake that was 3/4th finished. I cut a slice. This girl with tattoos on her arms came and started screaming at me that I cut her cake wrong. I paid and left. Crazy they treat paying customers so badly. There is also a very racist picture of a black man in the restaurant.
Update-In response to the business, their response to me confirms their rudeness and insanity. I am an attorney and educated person who always conducts myself respectfully. I bake as well and know all about cutting cake, but there was no cake slicer just a very small knife. It was buffet style where people serve themselves. Not to mention, the cake was almost finished when I got to it. I cut the tiniest sliver at the end and it was so dry and hard to cut. For her to say I destroyed her cake that was almost finished is hilarious. This type of rudeness is sadly not uncommon when traveling in Southern Italy. However, this was the worst experience ever. I am an Italian citizen who has been coming to Italy since I was 3. I am not originally from Abruzzo, but was here visiting. My mom was born in another region of Italy and people can be rude there too, but the experience at this restaurant was the worst in my life. She humiliated me in front of other customers by screaming about her cake. It was something so trivial that I initially did not even know what she was talking about. I couldn’t believe she started ranting about how I cut her cake. What if it would have been an old person or child? Don’t have buffet style if you will freak out. The reality is they are just racists who wanted to be on a power trip and act self righteous and attack somebody they perceive to be foreigner even though my family are Italian too. They were not hospitable or kind at all and I regret spending 30 minutes of my afternoon and my calories on this terrible place. I never felt so disrespected in my life. The rules were not to ask them to cut the cake, but for everybody to serve themselves. Everybody else was cutting themselves. I am telling the complete truth. She approached me in such a hostile manner. I already had a bad feeling about this restaurant when the moment I walked in, they kept asking me where I was from. At least if the food would have been good, but it was very mediocre.
For her to try to say I ruined their cake is a big joke. There was almost no cake left!! It was almost all gone by the time I got up there.
I now see from the Facebook of the restaurant, the woman who screamed at me is named Angela. She vaguely resembles Gianna Nannini. There is no excuse for her behavior towards a paying customer. She was just insane. She could have just waited for me to leave and cut the cake how she wanted or at least apologized. If she will go crazy because customers do not cut the cake at a certain angle using a small knife, she should have...

Attività a conduzione familiare, personale gentilissimo, disponibile a qualsiasi esigenza e splendido. L' entrata del locale è accessibile anche per chi è in sedia a rotelle, parcheggio disponibile in strada e in Piazza Garibaldi. Consiglio a tutti questo locale per chi cerca di mangiare ottimo e salutare a prezzi accessibili e materie...
