ALMOND Pasticceria Artigianale — Restaurant in Cisternino

I’ve become something of a focaccia pomodoro connoisseur since it’s one of few things I can eat, being plant-based. I’ve walked to Almond from Cisternino weekdays at least three times since I’ve been in Puglia because they have THE best focaccia. I wanted to spend my last weekend in Puglia enjoying their focaccia one last time so I went in on a Sunday (not my usual time). Unfortunately my last experience was not my best because, while service was great as always, the staff microwaved (?) the focaccia, which left it soggy and limp. Every other time I’ve come it’s had this delightfully crispy bottom and seemed very fresh. I hope the owners see this and prevent it from happening to anyone else. Beautiful (English style) garden seating, ideal spring to autumn. Unusually good variety of pastries available (as opposed to the usual selection of dry cookies typical for Southern Italy).
