Acqua e Farina — Restaurant in Civitavecchia

When we visited this place, they had just recently opened. You could see they were still getting the hang of it, but the service was very friendly, and they could speak a little English. The shop looks very good, with a nice modern look and feel.

The pizzas were good value for money, and we particularly liked the Carbonara Pizza. The sides and drinks were slightly more expensive than some of the other nearby establishments.

Lots of fake 5 star ratings claiming they use here the freshest and best quality vegetables. How do they know? The vegies get cooked and you can't tell much about the quality. Just standard pizzas with sparse toppings. I had a parmegiana and I can tell you, there was a total absence of "best quality" mozzarella, tomatosauce and parmesano. Chianti wine was standard. Grilled vegetables cold. No table cloth. I disagree with many of the positive ratings. They don't charge coperto, though....

Die Langversion: Wir haben das Restaurant über Google gefunden, da wir noch etwas Zeit hatten, bevor unsere Fähre kam. Wir wollten etwas Gutes essen und dabei das vollgepackte Auto im Blick behalten. Obwohl wir 30min vor der Öffnung da waren, wurde für uns eingedeckt und wir haben zur eigentlichen Öffnungszeit schon das Essen auf dem Tisch gehabt. Da wir kein italienisch können hat uns die Bedienung die Speisekarte bis ins kleinste Detail auf englisch erklärt, ohne dass wir nachfragen mussten. Auch der Unterschied zwischen Pizza und Pinse wurde uns erklärt. Wir saßen auf der überdachten Terrasse und konnten den Sonnenuntergang und einen Teil vom Hafen sehen. Auch unser Auto hatten wir im Blick. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Toiletten sehr sauber und das Personal unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir können das Restaurant nur empfehlen. Es ist zwanglos und gemütlich und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist optimal. Zum Hafen braucht man mit dem Auto etwa 5min. Ein...
