We visited Magari restaurant during our vacation and arrived at a truly beautiful place. We ordered our food, and an appetizer was served, which was really delicious and set the bar very high. For the main course, we ordered their beef fillet with pepper sauce, and here we were very disappointed.
The meat had no flavor, and it looked like it was boiled rather than fried. We ordered it medium, but our steak was almost fully cooked. The potatoes were burnt, and the only flavor in the dish came from the pepper in the sauce. All in all, it was a brown dish with more brown on top, and not very exciting.
We contacted the staff, and they offered us to choose another main course, which we accepted. Our next main course was delightful and tasted good. We thought everything was under control and ordered coffee, dessert, and drinks to support the restaurant for giving us the option to choose another dish.
When we went to pay the bill, both beef fillets were on it, and we asked the waiter if it was a mistake. We received a snobbish reply that it was not a mistake, but just our opinion that the dish wasn't good, and that they had served this dish to others without any complaints.
We were completely baffled and ended up paying a bill with two main courses per person, even though we didn't eat our beef fillet.
We left with a strange feeling and definitely have no...

It is such an unexpected jem in this little village near to Verona that the restaurant itself is easy too miss, as is it's entrance. Altough Italies traditional pasta and pizza are just great, it is this kitchen which makes cooking cuisine. The entrepeneurs started in 2019...just before Covid, but thank the higher powers for this restaurant to be kept alive. This truly is a kiss of cuisine!
Just a few suggestions: make your entrence be more visible, and if by any means the chef is visiting several tables, just do the last one as well. Even though the table is filled with foreigners not to return sometime soon...
Then again: thanks for al...
Read moreVery nice old country house in the middle of the fields. We walked out there after recomendation from our hotel @villa Zoppi. We ordered a bottle of wine and two streaks at first. Unfortunatelt the stake was plain and not worth to eat. The waiter nicely asked if we wanted something else, which we ofcause did, as we were hungry. We ordered something else (that was just fine) and some more wine, as the bottle was empty when the other food arived. Then we ordered coffee, desert and a rum. When we had to pay we saw that the steakes was on the check. We asked if it was a mistake? To that the very unpleasant reply came from the head waiter: maybe it's just your taste it wrong with. So yes, we had to pay for that. I have never experient that, ever, any other places before. Unfortunately that ruined the night...
