Dal marchese — Restaurant in Comacchio

We were walking along the evening market of Pomposa looking for a nice restaurant to eat about a week ago on monday.

The restaurant is a bit hidden in a side street. We were a bit early for Italian standards (around 19.00) and therefore were one of the first customers.

As being non Italian we of course decided to both do an antipasti and then my wife decided on only a primo and me a secundi.

I had the cockles and mussles and my wife had a shrimp salad. The primo for my wife was the shrimp risotto and I had the fried seafood platter.

The food was really good. The portions were royal, even the antipasti. We had a small dessert given to us by the host and of course limoncello as an exit drink.

The host was very nice and gentle and we had a good laugh about us trying to speak Italian.

I think this restaurant qualifies as a hidden gem in Pomposa.

Today we returned to the restaurant. But this time I brought my parents next to my wife. My parents can be picky eaters. With that I mean that they don’t try a lot of new things. So this restaurant serving mostly seafood and not things like pizzas can be tricky. But… my parents enjoyed the food. I ordered the melon and ham as a safe starter. My dad also had the fried seafood and for desert they tried the zuppa inglese which was very nice. My wife had thr salmon ravioli which was good.

My vacation is over tomorrow, but next year we will surely be back!

The only thing I would leave as a hint for the owner: try to have an english menu outside. There might be a lot of tourists that have a hard time understanding Italian. But that is of course dependent on whether or not you wish to attract tourists.

Abbiamo prenotato per un lunedì di agosto quindi relativamente tranquillo , scelto il tavolo ci siamo seduti e il titolare ,che fa anche il servizio al tavolo è stato velocissimo e attento alle nostre necessità e anche molto gentile e premuroso ,a regalato dei lecca-lecca alla mia bambina, molto apprezzati . Abbiamo mangiato tutto pesce (c'è anche il menù di carne),tre antipasti,2 primi una frittura mista , patatine acqua e bibite... I piatti erano tutti buoni ,con porzioni giuste nelle quantità... l'attesa tra un piatto e l'altro era molto breve (forse perché era un lunedì,con pochi altri tavoli da servire) ma torneremo con la famiglia più numerosa e un venerdì... per mettere alla prova la cucina.Sta di fatto che la recensione non può essere che positiva,e che merita una visita da chiunque voglia fare una mangiata in famiglia,la posizione un po' più nascosta lo penalizza in termini di affluenza rispetto a quelli più famosi e frequentati tra lido degli scacchi e lido di pomposa ma a me' piace più la tranquillità e il posto che prenoto ci sia e non debba aspettare anche...

Marco is an incredibly attentive host, atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice, and their desserts and limoncello are delicious! We had a little birthday celebration for my daughter and Marco made sure that it was superb! Totally recommend this establishment, and we will come back...
