Where do I start? Maybe by saying that I'd had never found the place in the first place if it wasn't for the reviews. I trusted the Swiss person below comment that they still dreams about the pizza every night. Lol We went there and the humble environment didn't prepare us for what's about to come. Prices are great, working hours are fantastic worth mentioning as everything else closes, but not papa Gio. Papa Gio comes out and asks what do you want him to make for you? You quickly realise as English speaker that communication would be only trough body/ food language and lots of smiles. We went for diavola and quatre staggioni and honestly couldn't tell which one is better. We ate half of them pizzas in the car on our way back to Brienno. Tasted so freaking good. Going back to papa Gio and his places for another round tonight before we fly back to miserable London. I'll be back, Mark my words. For everyone out there. Try it. You...
Read moreThe central downtown part of Como was so crowded that we couldn’t find a parking spot but found ourselves hungry which led us here. The menu is extensive. Whatever kind of pizza you would want, you can have. The workers were incredibly kind and patient as we decided what we wanted. They had a QR code for the English menu which was helpful. We ordered three normal sized pizzas for five of us which was plenty. We got a cheese, salami, and the la’tombic(not sure on spelling) . They had a thinner crust and it was cooked right there as we watched them prepare it. I wasn’t blown away with the pizza however it was good and tasty. We ate all of it! If you are in the area I think you would like it. Good prices, kind workers, and...
Read moreI just had a hous's pizza papa Gio and can't decide what's worse: The fact that this pizza place is so highly rated, despite the poor quality pizza or the fact, that such a bad pizza can even exist in Itally. OF ALL PLACES IN ITALY! I've had better pizzas in Newzeeland and (white) kiwi kitchen is as taste- and humorless as the English kitchen it's rooted in.. The bread was white as milk and lumpy No signs of the mozzorella buffula, neither optically nor tastewise The porcini was also tasteless. To be fair, you can't really expect fresh porcini, when ordering a pizza but I guess even when it comes to frozen ones, there are huge quality differences too. Overall a quite disapointing pizza...
