Osteria degli Artisti — Restaurant in Comunità Alto Garda e Ledro

What has happend to 2 great sisters that were running this place? We visit Riva del Garda every year and meal in this restaurant used to be one of the highlights of our holidays (last year and 2 years ago). Service was great, food was delicious. Yesterday we visited Osteria and there was no sign of lovely sisters. Instead we met staff who seemed to be drunk (we walked in just before 7.00 pm and they said "We open at 6.30...we do not know what's the time to be honest"...Portions were really small in comparison to what we remembered from last year (I would say twice as small). Waitress - when asked for some extra cheese just rolled her eyes and ignored my friend. After we finished the meal they served us the bread (again!!!). Noone asked for dessert. Noone seemed to care. I wonder if the managment/owners have changed - if so - the good opinions this place have relates to the era of 2 great sisters who run this place in the past. If our favourite sisters are on holidays - pls read this review and consider changing your staff because they will ruin everything you work for for...

You can definitely find better places! Some of the dishes are decent but it’s just overpriced food for the quality they offer. Edit: Editing because I am accused of lying, I want people to know the reality. We ordered the trio vegetables side(courgette,aubergine and pepper) and instead we were brought a spoon-size of spinach. We asked about our vegetables thinking this is yet to come and in a nice manner we were told they are on the way. Then, we got a side with a spoon-size of spinach, pepper and 3 slices of mushroom. We didn’t say anything because the place was still nice and the waiter was friendly but at the end they thought it’s fair to charge us for both the spinach as well so 14euro for 2 sides that we didn’t order and they were disappointing. Not even saying about the driest sausage in the history and the warm prosseco that lost...

Excellent vibes, cozy location yet mindful of detail. Food is really good and prices are in line considering the high quality. The strong point here is the home made pasta and the “pampering” service.

A particularly positive remark goes to Andrea, who gave an exceptional service. Accurate, quick and friendly, he was able to help us make up our mind on the courses in no time, yet explaining us every detail of what we would order (exact wine pairing included). He showed both professionalism and warmth, he definitely knows what he’s talking about.

I had little time to get to know the rest of the staff but considering the fast service, the high quality of the cooking and the good vibes, I would say they all do a great job.
