Read moreWARNING! Dining here is both a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing because you will most likely experience food tasting as if the angels of heaven themselves have descended to cook and serve you the most delicious dinner you have experienced. No joke, this is the best restaurant we've eaten in and the Michelin award is well deserved.
However, this is also a curse hidden in the blessing. If you eat here your standards of taste in food might forever be raised to such a high standard that you will be left to wander the earth, desperate to find a restaurant that lives up to the standards of Al Volt.
Both me and my wife just had THE best tasting vegetarian four dish dinner we've ever experienced. The pumpkin soup was incredible and so well balanced! And who knew it was possible to make aubergine taste so good?? The pasta was lacking in salt but this gave us the opportunity to salt it to our personal preference and once we did all it's flavors came out perfectly! Oh, and then came the strawberry dessert! Wow! A fluffy explosion of summer! How can it have such intense taste of strawberry but still manage to stay balanced and fresh? And then the chocolate cake! The taste and consistency was simply nind blowing. How can it be so good and why has no other restaurant been able to replicate it?? It has set a new standard and all our future chocolate cakes will forever be compared to the ones we were given here.
Oh, did I also mention how the service was attentive, friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was perfect for a romantic dinner!
I REALLY recommend taking a full 4 course menu in order to explore all the flavors al volt can provide. You simply can't beat it for the price (€50 per person) and quality and this was the PERFECT ending dinner for our vacation in Riva Del Garda.
Here are some extra stars because you can't give them more than 5/5 on...

We had dinner at Ristorante al Volt, and at first, everything was off to a lovely start. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the kitchen surprised us with a little pumpkin soup — a delicious and cozy touch.
Our daughter ordered the homemade spaghetti with Castelmagno cheese and black truffle, which was absolutely divine. My husband and I started with the fish tartare — out of this world — and then he had the homemade tagliatelle with anchovies, while I enjoyed the linguine with scallops, walnuts, and lemon. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
Then came the awkward part. The staff highly recommended the fish “di lago,” encouraging us to share it — we said yes, expecting one dish split between us. When two full plates arrived, I asked if it had already been divided. They cheerfully said, “It’s all good!” … only to later charge us for two full entrees. It was delicious, yes — but we didn’t ask for two, and we didn’t appreciate the surprise charge. It felt a bit like a culinary timeshare pitch, and we noticed the same tactic being used at tables nearby.
We ended the night with an espresso, but unfortunately, we won’t be returning. A great meal soured by a hard-sell approach we just didn’t...
