I ordered a salad which was supposed to contain nuts, parmesan and "speck". The nuts were few and far between, the cheese was OK but the "speck" was unchewable chunks of raw bacon, mainly fat. I couldn't eat it and sent it back, but had to pay for it anyway. The chef was very rude and said I should have read the menu. To add insult to injury, we had asked for a little onion to be added to our salads and were charged 3 euros for a few slivers. The salads were thrown together any old how (chunks of unpeeled cucumber for eg). Not wanting to give up, I ordered a slice of apfelstrudel, which tasted decidely of lard. Take your own sandwiches...
Read moreOmg worst service in Italy after 100 days here. Lord. Skip it. They can’t handle the tourists and the greeters are incredibly stressed. I think the Germans are used to that maybe because it seems the norm at this tourist trap. They don’t realise that if their staff is scowling and no one offers to help that they will get the same in return from paying guests. Duh. Understaffed even at 2:30. Really badly managed. If you value your vacation and time, skip. Especially the cranky old man at the bar. OMG. The solution it seems is to close tables vs trying to pack all the tables without the sevice available...
Read moreCame in for a coffee at around 9:15 am, asked them politely if it was okay for me to plug my computer to work. Left at 11:30 when there was still a lot of tables available and handed them a 5€ note for a 1.60€ coffee. They did not give me the change and said that they would keep the 5€ for electricity cost. I'm okay to pay some extra for electricity as it is not free I understand, but they were clearly taking advantage of the situation.
