Avoid!!!

My wife and I visited with friends and were immediately treated like second class due to us being British. This, despite me being somewhat proficient in Italian and asking clearly for drinks, the first waiter removed himself from service and provided us another waiter who was able to speak English (he couldn't).

My wife ordered a standard carbonara (listed with bacon). It was full of pork fat. When we showed the head of house, we were told that the menu stated it included pork cuts - the menu clearly stated bacon (in both English and Italian).

We were then told that the carbonara was made up of pork "lips" by the head of house and that our assumption of bacon was incorrect. When examining the menu once more, we discovered that indeed, it stated Bacon within the carbonara and not off cut "pig lips" as proposed by both the head as well as the waiter.

Upon paying the €100.50 bill, we were greeted with incredibly snide looks by a female member of staff who commented something along the lines of "inferiore..."

I swiftly slammed the door in disgust at the treatment shown by this "establishment".

Despite visiting a number of bars, restaurants and eateries during our trip, I would advise anyone to avoid this gaudy and vulgar place.

The Duck was mediocre. The Steak was dry and the service was so poor I (and my wife and friends) would have been better serviced in the 5 star Hotel we were staying at.

Avoid at all costs and visit La Torreta which is opposite - this place is similarly priced with a better menu and MUCH better staff.

Again, I am utterly disgusted and disappointed that this utterly classless hole of a "restaurant" was recommended and would have preferred to have given my money to a better...

What a perfectly suitable way to end a week’s skiing in the northern Alpine region of Italy. The fare at Il Focolare Ristorante was the highlight of the evening. Speaking from personal experience, the Deer Tagliatelle Al Ragu was the highlight of the evening and was particularly recommended. This was enjoyed with a side of potatoes and for dessert, apple strudel (disappointing I was advised ice cream could not be served with my strudel). A reasonably priced wine list accompanied the menu provided a perfectly adequate tipple to be served with the evening’s food. Our party of 6 was seated immediately on arrival without a reservation. Service was pleasant and efficient with food arriving promptly. Understanding of English was sound, a particularly pleasant feature of the experience given the limited English spoken elsewhere in town. The only point of contention regarding service was settling of the account (evenly between all members of our group) seemed an all but impossible task.. till it wasn’t after some delay. This need not be a complicated feat in 2024. Finally, atmosphere was satisfactory, with some generic background music akin to a local radio station. Starched table clothes and impeccably clean glasses and cutlery adorned the table in a perfectly acceptable manner. Overall this restaurant deserves its google review rating of 4.5 stars and if this were an option I would select the same. However, whole number review only must...

Esperienza assolutamente NEGATIVA per una cena di 4 persone e ora vi spiego anche il perché: Durante tutta la cena, il proprietario che si trovava a un tavolo adiacente, non ha fatto altro che fissarci e origliare per tutta la serata. Ci siamo sentiti molto a disagio e osseravati ad ogni boccone. Per quanto riguarda le porzioni, sono state davvero piccole e nonostante il prezzo alto (lombata 25€) non era incluso nemmeno un contorno, almeno un’ insalata sarebbe stata gradita. Almeno quella! 😐 Il tagliere da 20€ aveva esattamente 3 fette di formaggio e altre 3 fette di salame, il tutto accompagnato da un po’ di miele. Con 20€ dalla Conad riesci a mettere su un tagliere più consistente e gustoso! L’ambiente tutto sommato non è male, le decorazioni erano carine, ma il ristorante è poco più grande del mio soggiorno 😆 (sconsigliato per claustrofobici) Il giorno dopo, nel ritrovare lo scontrino e guardandolo meglio, ci siamo accorti che il conto non tornava, c’era una differenza di ben 11€ in più rispetto a quello che avevamo ordinato! CONTROLLATE sempre lo scontrino prima di pagare! Hanno la ‘strana’ tendenza di aggiungere ‘extra’.

Inutile dire che il rapporto qualità/prezzo è pessimo. Risparmiate i vostri soldi. Si mangia molto meglio nel ristorante di fronte! NON CI RITORNERÒ...
