I don’t write reviews often, but now I felt I had to make an effort to warn my fellow tourist in Iseo. Most horrible place we had dinner in our two week holiday and they completely ruined the ending of a good day. We went here because they had above average reviews. However I now see that more people had bad experiences recently. Perhaps a recent change in staff or management....

Basically we ordered grilled fish, pizza with goose and grilled veggies. Some of dishes were served quicker than they serve at Mac Donalds. I got my pizza which was still cold, raw and not baked properly. My partner got her veggies which is a side dish, but had to wait for her main dish.

I returned my pizza, they put it back into the oven. I get the same pizza back, this time it was warm, missing a piece (already had a bite) and all the fresh green mint leafs were burned. While I was eating my pizza, my partners grilled fish came way later. Completely overdone and burned. We returned it and left the restaurant within 20 min.

Staff is rushed. They don’t seem to care about quality. They are only focused on quantity. Management is missing the guts to come to your table and discuss the matter.

Pizza overvalued and very dry, people at the cash desk are very rude and unpolite. Also they tried to break the law!

They wanted to make a single bill and didn't want to split it because they didn't want to pay too many electronic transactions with the debit/credit card. They even showed me a paper with:"we don't make separate bills!", which doesn't mean anything to the italian laws.

In the end, they let me pay with credit card because in deep of their hearts they knew I was right.

Bonus: A waiter told me:"I prefer to work only with smart people", an advice for him could be changing...

I've been in quite a few restaurants at Lago d'Iseo. But La Vera Umbria is the best place for my taste. It has also the possibility to sit outside directly on the pier. The staff is extremely friendly and carries very thoughtfully for the guests. Umbria has an excellence vino della casa and a good choice of pizza, meat and seafood. Most impressive is the very fast procedure. You don't even wait 5 minutes until you get your food on the table and the seize of the portions is appropriate.
