I gave this place one star without an explanation because they did not deserve my time and effort. However, after the owner's comment, I decided to come here to help people by explaining why you should avoid this place at all costs (specially if you have children):

Our hotel called this restaurant to make a reservation hours in advance. The hotel called more than once! And made it clear we were coming with a baby and a stroller. When we arrived, they knew nothing about us and started acting as if they were making us a favor. Later on, we saw a group of about 7 people arriving with the same problem ( They were completely unprofessional! They also did not know anything about them and/or their reservation!) So they left us in the sun (40C) with our baby, after several minutes of bad treatment. Our baby was a problem for them, so we had to stay away without a parasol. They took more than 1 hour to bring us just a single bottle of water and were very rude from the very beginning. The restaurant was still empty. The staff was completely unfriendly and looked at us as if they were saying "I hate my job therefore I hate you". We asked to go inside, and it was even worse. More than one hour passed and nobody even came to our table to take notes of our order. Our baby started to show sighs of fainting because of the warmth and nobody cared. That's when we decided to leave this stupid place and were still charged 10 euros for a bottle of water and the "service"we did not get.

To the owner: Now... Potatoes??? Fillets??? What are you even talking about? You just signed a certificate of incompetence by writing that. You mentioned another customer who seems to have hated this place as well. However, if this/these costumers confused potatoes for apples it speaks more about you than about them.

So First off: Whatever you find polite (or not) is your problem alone. You told one of your clients who left a review here that his perception was his alone and/or perhaps coming from a different cultural perspective when he called you RUDE - what, in fact, you are! - You should see politeness in the same way then. Therefore, stop thinking that the world rounds around your own belly and keep your thoughts to yourself. I mention facts.

Next time you see a one review star without a comment, think twice and ask yourself if you do not deserve even less. You were just not worth my time. And let me tell you what can be seen by almost all cultures in the world as impolite: letting an 8-month-old baby faint in the sun. And if you think rudeness as cultural (as you told your other customer), you are a shame for italian culture and culinary. Italians are usually very nice people to deal with! And I bet no one would think of potatoes instead of apples (or vice-versa) with most of Italian cookers. Thank God I did not waste my time ordering food there.

TO EVERYONE ELSE: You are the reason I came back here. This is an old restaurant. Perhaps, it was good in the past, but its current owner will not take long to destroy the work of someone else hands by the way he/she treats the customers. I believe they are still alive because of tradition, only. Really not worth the...

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food , we never even got the chance to try anything. From the very beginning, the staff behaved strangely and unprofessionally. It wasn’t a language barrier issue - their attitude was simply unwelcoming and confusing. The waitress spoke so quietly it was hard to understand her, she was extremely slow, and no one offered any help even though we only received menus in Italian.

When we declined the appetizers, they started making odd faces and pointing at us while talking with other staff members, which felt very inappropriate and rude.

To make matters worse, they placed the menus directly on top of our cutlery, which was very unhygienic. The overall atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable even almost grim.

In short: a very unpleasant experience. I do not recommend...

Great food, very cozy environment and it felt really local. They were compliant to the covid restrictions: the tables were set up according to social distancing, food menus were via a QR code on your own phone and at the entrance they were checking people's "green pass" (proof of vaccination, proof of recent recovery or negative PCR test). Preferrably and if possible, make a reservation in advance. The food was super tasty and portions were very generous. The traditional trattoria is not located in a center, but rather a "hidden treasure" in a residential neighborhood.
