Review restaurant:
Last night, our party of 14 dined at Trattoria Galla Rosso and unfortunately, our experience was less than stellar. The establishment itself has a simple but pleasant enough ambiance, but both the food and service left much to be desired.
Starting with the food, most of the dishes we ordered were just mediocre. The bread and sticks were lacking flavor and freshness. The main courses were equally uninspiring. The pasta was not fresh nor well cooked. Several other guests in our party reported similar issues with their meals. The meat (mixed platter) was too much cooked (well done instead of medium rare), and the chicken was dry and bland, the sausages tasted like wet paper and the wooden lamb sticks were so burnt they crumbled on the plate. A simple hamburger was serviced with no inspiration at all nor was given some TLC, which should be the least thing a cook has to offer. While the menu offered a wide variety of options, it seems quantity was prioritized over quality.
As for the service, it was minimal at best. While I understand that serving a large group can be challenging, the staff seemed overwhelmed and inattentive. Our drinks took an excessively long time to arrive, and refills were almost non-existent.
Overall, the evening was a disappointment. For the prices charged, we expected a much higher standard of both food and service. Also worth to mention is this restaurant charges a coperto. I hope the management at Trattoria Galla Rosso takes steps to improve, but based on this experience, I can't recommend it to others, especially for large groups. Many other much more preferable options are within...
Read moreDisappointed and uninspiring. We had a friendly greeting from staff who were helpful in explaining the menu in English. The main courses were mixed grill, which comprised of a hot dog sausage, another type of sausage a tiny bit of rib and a chicken leg that looked like it had come from a local pigeon! The tagliata (slices of cooked beef with cheese shavings on a bed of lettuce) tasty but cold. Mixed salad comprised of mixed lettuce leaves from a bag of salad only, complained so they put chopped tomato on top! Potatoes were also cold. Deserts were good, apple cake and chocolate cake. Cappuccino coffees were hot but more milky coffee than cappuccino. But suited us....
Read moreLooked nice from the outside. Unfortunately, the portions were very small, the taste of the starter (truffle pasta) was ok, but the taste of my main dish (fish) was really aweful. I wasn‘t sure if it was bad or just burnt. For our 2 kids, we had ordered plain pasta with some cheese. We received only one plate with a small portion and ended up paying 20 Euros for that. So not only were our kids still hungry, that was also quite overpriced. All in all, a...
