The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and you can tell the ingredients are of the highest quality. We were spoiled for choice with the wide assortment of dishes on the menu, from delectable starters to mouthwatering mains and indulgent desserts. Food was good service was average. The staff are perfunctory but not engaging - almost annoyed you’re bothering them by sitting down. I ordered the Pinse Calabrese with salami, I’m used to large round slices whereas it came with more like pepperoni (small sausage circles) so that was disappointing, the black olives are bland. The pizza dough is really good. Partner ordered the Cacio e Pepe which he said lacked the real Pecorino cheese flavor we’d tasted in Rome. I got the better of the two.

Watch out for the service fee of €2 pp it’s listed quite small on the menu. When questioned they said it’s for the paper placemat and cutlery, seriously they charge €2 pp for the use of cutlery !! How do you eat in a restaurant otherwise...

Less is more. Dovrebbe tenerlo bene a mente chi gestisce questo locale. Un menu con infinità di pietanze la cui esecuzione spesso lascia a desiderare. È davvero la scelta vincente fornire tanti piatti realizzati in maniera mediocre? Non parliamo poi del servizio. Tante persone che scappano da una sala all’altra che non hanno contezza di ciò che succede ai commensali. Ho dovuto chiedere il mio cocktail 3 volte al cameriere, dopo che gli altri tre commensali stavano già bevendo ed erano stati serviti 10 minuti prima di me. Non appena stavamo iniziando a mangiare l’antipasto arriva un’altra cameriera che si è avvicinata con i panini con l’intenzione di servirli già. Non appena ho fatto notare che stavamo mangiando ancora l’antipasto, che avevamo richiesto esplicitamente di portare i panini solo successivamente e che io non avevo neanche da bere ancora, la cameriera mi ha risposto “e quindi che devo fare? Li devo riportare?” Come se fosse un nostro problema. Forse il personale de L’Insolito non è stato istruito a dovere circa il problem solving (problemi che poi, creano solo ed esclusivamente loro con una disorganizzazione disarmante). Mentre stavamo mangiando l’ antipasto ho richiesto ad un cameriere due piatti per poter poggiare le pietanze ma, a quanto pare, ogni richiesta se non ripetuta almeno 3 o 4 volte non viene accolta. Altro appunto: spiegare ai camerieri che bisogna sparecchiare prima di portare a tavola altri piatti. Ci hanno servito i fantomatici panini e i piatti dell’antipasto non sono stati ritirati e ho dovuto chiederlo io personalmente alla cameriera di ritirarli per poter mangiare con tranquillità i piatti successivi. Panini con carne di scottona tutto sommato buone, meno quelli con salsiccia e cime di rapa. Poke nella media, sconsiglio quelle con il salmone crudo. Conto salato rispetto alla qualità dei prodotti e del servizio fornito. In una parola? TROPPO È tutto troppo: troppi piatti del menù, troppi piatti approssimativamente eseguiti, troppa disorganizzazione , troppa poca professionalità e cura del cliente.
