RED BEEF RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Dormelletto

Just got home from dinner here and had to write a review. This was our last dinner of our holiday and by far the best we have had. Lovely restaurant with a nice interior. Frirndly and efficient staff, it was busy but the staff were well organised. We sat and recieved a small free appetiser. Ordered a steak and ribs for our main. My partner said the steak was lovely but both agreed that the ribs were absolutely amazing and they were by far the best ribs i have ever eaten. They were really juicy and fell from the bone, we could have happily taken another plate. I have a major sweet tooth and an obsession with pistachio so when i heard they had panna cotta with pistachio sauce and chocolate i had to try it. Really the best panna cotta i have ever tasted. Abbiamo prenotato per 3 persone, entriamo in orario (20:35) e ci mettiamo in fila per essere ricevuti, stranamente ricevono prima un gruppo dopo di noi (ma si dai).Poi la signora in cassa ci fa accomodare, ma una volta arrivati al tavolo si accorge che era completamente sparecchiato, aspettiamo davanti al tavolo che il cameriere ci apparecchi. Ci sediamo e ci portano subito le liste, una volta che il cameriere se ne va diventa un esodo per riusire ad ordinare, passano 20min e iniziamo a farci notare dai camerieri alzando le mani ma veniamo ignorati bellamente da almeno 5 camerieri; riesco a farmi notare dalla sognora della cassa che in quel momento stava accompagnando degli altri clienti al tavolo dicendogli "vorremmo ordinare" lei mi risponde con un "siamo incasinati e c'è anche altra giente" (il ristorante si era pieno ma direi che 20min per scegliere da un menu siano piu che sufficenti); poco dopo riusciamo ad ordinare. Prendiamo 3 burger con un aggiunta di becon a parte. Il bere arriva praticamente subito per i panini sono arrivati in circa 40min, chiedo al cameriere quale dei 3 sia quello con l'aggiunta di becon a "parte" (ovviamente non c'era) lui mi indica il mio e scappa via. Controlliano nei panini se c'era un aggunta all interno dei panini e non c'era, quindi tento un altra volta un dialogo con un cameriere ma rimane un ardua impresa, dopo circa 10min riesco a parlarci e torna in cucina a chiedere la mancata ordinazione; Il becon arriva dopo altri 20min é inutile dire che i nostri panini erano belli che finiti. Ovviamente rimandiamo indietro il piatto facendo notare alla cameriera che avavamo gia finito di mangiare, la cameriera si scusa dicendo che anno avuto parecchi casini sia in cucina che fuoi. Io non dico che pretendo di avere un servizio da fast food ma neanche dover passare l'intera serata al ristorante.

Come ristorante lo consiglio ( quello che ho mangiato era molto buono e anche gli altri piatti che ho visto passare erano molto appetitosi). Ci tornerei si MA forse eviterei il mercoledì e il giovedì giusto per evitare un altra serata come quella...

Place looks nice and the wine was good, but very disappointed by the food:

1. every other customer (italian guests) was given a small appetizer, we (tourists) didn’t receive one
2. Don’t take the sirloin! I asked about the difference between this meat and the steak slices on the menu, they said it’s just a bigger piece of meat. No one told me that at Red Beef the sirloin is served with nearly the entire T-Bone. In addition with all the fat, I could only eat less than 50% of what I was served.
3. I ordered my steak medium rare but was served an english/rare cooking. With the previous experience I didn’t want to call the waiter again but this is another reason why I will never go to this...
