Prices much higher than quality/qyantity deserves; service as bad as it can be; and not honest place, so always double check your bill. We had a surreal experience in this place. We called asking if they would have a table in half an hour, and they replied yes, and they also told us that the kitchen was open, but the service would have been a bit slow because the main waitress had to rush to the hospital during the shift. We said it was no problem for us. When we arrived, I asked if they had any news about the main waitress, and apparently there was no main waitress at the Hospital at all. They brought us the menu, and before we could open it, the cook came out and took it from us. The waitress came back with a small paper, saying they had 4 things on the menu and listed them without the price. We were a bit upset, cause we drove about 20 minutes to go there, and I had seen the menu online which had quiet few things on it, and also we called in advance and they didn't mention anything about the kitchen. But,as we were with a child, we ordered: one pasta, one tagliata and one grilled vegetables. The pasta was good, the tagliata was 5 small pieces, and the vegetables are littery 3 slices of vegs. Before going to pay I took a menu just to have a look( 3 slices of vegetables 7 euro!). When we went to pay, a woman told us" it would be 25 each, plus the child..." I stopped her, and asked how was possibly 25 each for adults, as we didn't order a fix price, and one of us only ordered the grilled vegs. So we asked to see the menu, she rexisted a while repeating it was 25 each, plus the child; finally she opened a menu and asked us what did we order, cause she didn't know! After calculating, the bill was actually less, I was super pissed, but wanted to get out as soon as possible, so we agreed to pay by card, and she said they don t accept cards, which is illegal in Italy. I would add that we are Italian, so it was not about...
Read moreFurther below is my old review. Here is my current view. After re-opening we went but we won't be going again. Very disappointing. Quality of ingredients down, portions down, food preparation down, service professionalism down, ambiance down. Only the prices went up. Shame. Fauglia lost an institution.
Old review (based on 14 years of coming here): One of the places in the region that you must go to. Francesco built everything with his own hands decades ago. It's a pretty place with great views. But also the inside is special. The food is regional fare of good quality. If anything seasonal is available - truffles,...
Read moreFantastic and friendly traditional restaurant made with fresh local ingredients. There are Italian grandmothers cooking in the kitchen. We started with a beautiful antipasto of seasonal ingredients. The pastas -- ravioli in sundried tomato pesto and wild boar papardelle are bith flavorful and rich. I wish we had room for dessert. But we finished with a little limoncello. It looks quite popular with locals enjoying a home style meal on a week night. We sat on the outdoor patio, which has great views. I recommend it and would...
