Roven — Restaurant in Florence

I recently dined at this restaurant and unfortunately, I was disappointed with several aspects of the experience. Firstly, the bread served seemed to be days old, lacking freshness. The antipasto selection was not up to par in terms of quality, leaving much to be desired. As for the bisteca, it was neither impressive nor satisfying; it arrived cold and failed to meet expectations. To top it off, the cheesecake was a letdown - it was labeled as cheese but tasted more like cornstarch. On a positive note, the staff were courteous and attentive throughout the meal. However, despite the good service, the overall experience fell short of justifying the hefty price tag of 85 euros for two people. Regrettably, I cannot see myself returning to this establishment...

Non è la prima volta che vado e ho sempre avuto esperienze positive sia con il cibo sia semplicemente per un drink. Prenotiamo per 30 persone una consumazione post cena per festeggiare dei compleanni che coincidono tutti tra il 22 e il 23. Veniamo messi a sedere nella saletta superiore in pochi minuti, come da accordo ci vengono servite le 8 bottiglie di vino pattuite in chiamata, avevamo poi intenzione di proseguire la serata prendendo altre bottiglie o drink al bar che si trova all'ingresso del ristorante. La saletta superiore dopo pochi minuti diventa un forno. Uno dei camerieri dai capelli rasati biondi inizia fin da subito a proporci insistentemente del cibo e dell'altro alcool. Accetto all'ennesima proposta una magnum di spumante con la quale fare un brindisi, ci presenta un franciacorta e un minuto dopo posiziona un altra magnum all'altro tavolo con solo invitati senza nessuna autorizzazione di cui mi accorgerò solo dopo aver sorpreso il cameriere in una fuga repentina al piano di sotto. Specifico che non ci sono equivoci poiché in fase di trattativa della bottiglia abbiamo parlato del fatto che una bottiglia magnum sarebbe stata sufficiente per 30 persone. Tornerà poco più tardi con una terza magnum e la aprirà sul tavolo senza nessuna autorizzazione. Scendiamo alla cassa per chiedere spiegazioni e il proprietario inizia un teatrino dove scarica la colpa al cameriere sembrano tutt'altro che dispiaciuto ma più fiero dell'operato della sua creatura che intanto ci guarda con la faccia da furbo. La soluzione del proprietario è stata regalarci una delle magnum e le scuse sono state misere soprattutto dette con tale tono e con la faccia di chi aveva fatto...

We have been dining in a different restaurant every night for two weeks in Tuscany vacationing and this was the worst meal I’ve eaten. I had the sliced beef with mushrooms and cheese, ordered medium rare. The beef was cooked well done, had a lot of grizzle and fat and the mushrooms were slimy. I also ordered grilled vegetables.
